Great idea, but how are you marking it? I thought about doing this as well, but keeping EVERYONE on course seems like an impossibility, especially knowing the riding style of fixed gear/urban riders (hopping curbs, taking shortcuts etc.) A very short portion of the race I'm putting on this Saturday will be specifically marked, but it's essentially a straight shot and is only 1/8 of a mile or so.

There will be checkpoints or at least people wathing to make sure the ridrs don't skip the difficult sections. Other than that, it is basically an honor system. The goal of my races is to compete and push yourself as far as you can go. Not to win.
I have designed the course such that it basically follows the shortest path between the off-road sections. If people do deviate from the course, they will most likely be taking a longer route.
12XU, let me know how your race turns out.

My flight won't get me back in time.
I'm definitely showing up mid-race with my camera though!
