St. Petersburg FL's 1st Alleycat - Sat April 21st

The date is set, Saturday April 21st. Flyers are being made as I type. I'll have a website with the flyer up on it and more details soon. I'll comeback and attach it here too. I'll also have an email address to direct any questions.

Details of the race will be released in the following days. The first and biggest part being the name, will be given now...

Oh yea!!

Was it your genius that thought up the name Todd? Should I come by your house and pick up some flyers?

This is going to be huge!

oops, the post by airwolf is my buddy and i didn't realize i was logged in on his name. anyways, if you need any help mapping out the race or checkpoint stuff just ask. i live in downtown so if it's downtown i can easily help with that stuff. talk to airwolf as well, he is down for helping out too. he even mentioned donating a small messenger bag filled with parts for the winner.

Starting tomorrow morning questions and sponsor offers can be directed to todd@horroh.com

All sponsors will be greatly appreciated and promoted accordingly. I already have a few great prizes secured, but the more the better. Like I said...more details will be released soon.

Jamey, please let airwolf know that I'd be happy to accept anything his shop can offer. Thanks!

If you want to do it scavenger hunt style I have a HUGE St. Pete-specific list I put together awhile back and never used because I can't organize myself out of bed in the morning, let alone a whole race. Anyway, if you want to use it or even just look at it and laugh at it, let me know. I guess that would DQ me, but whatever, I'll just keep score or something.

Also, Fixed Fight means no gears allowed? That would DQ a lot of people we could probably talk into participating.

I like that you guys are excited about this...

Today's piece of information released will be to clarify a part of the race. Which bikes are welcome to ride...?

All Bike Types Welcome

The track bike is obviously the main contender. Invites will be offered to BMX guy, Cyclo-Cross guy, Roadie guy and the girl on the pink fixie that knocks you out. Think you can win it on a beach cruiser?

There will always be somebody that comes to an alleycat with 28 gears, brakes and more spandex then an 80's dance party. Well, now is your chance to knock them and anyone else out all at once. It's going to suck if some punk on a BMX bike beats your a$$.

Realistically though, yes, let's pool our gas money and convince somebody with a car to go.

Awww, of course Jamey. You probably know the city on a bike a lot better than I do. I just know how to get to the bars and the Dali.

Everyone needs to start spreading the word on this in your town now. If you're outside the St. Petersburg area and think you have a place where some flyers would get some people involved...let me know. Send me an email (todd@horroh.com) with your address and we'll get you some flyers asap.

One note to the St. Pete guys (excluding Robb). If you want to help with the race setup (ie. checkpoints and such) you're going to miss out on the race day fun. No un-fair advantages, you know.

Again, I love the excitement and I think we're going to show the out-of-towners a good time. I just want to make sure we have a Tampa/St.Pete contingent that will be racing for our honor when the day comes.

I'd love to have a sit-down over a few pints and hear everyone's ideas. Set it up in the Tampa/St.Pete thread so we can keep this thread clean and race specific. Not much is left to setup outside of a few checkpoints, but Robb and I are open to some unique checkpoint ideas.

Thanks!

P.S.
Another race detail will be released tomorrow!

I want to race, so i'll just help with the flyers. Should I come to this meeting?

And Sara... you can kick my ass! All I do is fall on people's Pistas and waste my money to look fast. Also, you betta get everyone down here with you!
