City of Suspects II: April 21, Durham, NC

SATURDAY, APRIL 21
City of Suspects II
$5 race / $5 show, show free w/race entry.
All proceeds to the Durham Bike Co-op (www.durhambikecoop.org)
1:00 p.m. - Registration outside the Suntrust Building
(tallest building), downtown Durham.
9:00 p.m. - Show at Bull City HQ (723 N Mangum St) w/
Gun Metal Black, Idea of Beauty, The Lineage.
So here's the deal: instead of an all-out race this one's gonna be a sort of deranged omnium:
Test your prowess, be prepared for the absurd. All events weighted evenly; to the victors, the glory ...
The Events:
-Tractor Pull: A drag race. Two easychairs on wheels, with someone sitting in each. Tow yours across the finish line as fast as you can. Format: Time trial.
-Crooked Crank Racing: Two laps around a track, 2-4 riders per heat. Only your cranks are at a 90 degree angle instead of the usual 180. Format: Time trial; single elimination semi-final and final for top four times.
-Bike Polo: Street (axles of evil etc.) rules. Three people per team, teams chosen randomly. Format: single elimination tourney.
-Hill Sprints: Ride to the top of a parking garage as fast as you can. Do something devious of our choosing. Ride back down again. Format: Time trial.
-Huffy Toss: Some spin hammer-throw style. Some underhand it. Whatever: just toss that thing as far as you can. Format: distance, not decapitating your friends.
-Tube Change: Change out an innertube: quickly and without blowing it out. Format: Time trial.
-Footdown: Tiebreaker as needed. Ride around in a circle w/your opponent(s) and try to push them off their bike. Dabbing (putting a foot down) or riding out of the circle eliminates you.
*Track events: So that all can compete, track stands, backwards circles, and skids will not scored for the omnium. However, time and interest permitting, these events will be held between bands during the show.

Oh man...I wish this weren't the same weekend as Fixed Fight. Durham's so close to Atlanta, all the events look amazingly awesome, & it's for a co-op good cause.
I hope you have another alleycat soon! I'll totally bring up the Atlanta kids!
