Online registration for Rumble thru the Bronx4 is LIVE.

Go to www.5borogenerals.com to enlist.

Rumble kicks of an all-city series. Top 20 finishers will get points toward the Generals classification. Next race is Broadway Bombin' on July 4th.

While you are at the site, check out the STANDINGS page - big up Champion Systems for sponsoring custom jerseys for 1st place Man, 1st place Woman and 1st place Out-ofTown. The **** is hot - i heard Bjarn Riis is coming out of retirement to try and win it (you know, to replace the one that the Tour de France is about to take back...).

Finally, big up Chrome Bags for coming on as a Major sponsor.

For Honor. For Glory. FOR THE BRONX!

Stranger,

expect mayhem and depravity at Beck st... or maybe some old peurto rican dudes playing dominos and drinking short cans of bud.... I might also watch out for insurgent attacks along the route, but I'm paranoid...

nyc would probably be better off without you. The Bronx is a great ride. Spend more time on bike and less time on internet complaining... your skin will clear up and you'll be happier.

And now back to what this thread is actually about:

FYI: Rumble is part of a series this year (www.5borogenerals.com). The top 20 finishers will receive points towards the Generals classification. Top points earners will command the streets of NYC.

If you are from out-of-town and sitting on the fence about coming to Rumble, here's some incentive: The overall winner of the out-of-town Generals classification is going to get a bike hand built just for that one dedicated individual by Jacobs of Jacobs Cycles! The only way to get points for the Generals classifcation? Race the series (you don't have to race them all, but you will need to make up some points if you miss one)...

For those that don't know, Jacobs is one of those rare breed messenger-alleycat organizer-frame builders. He's based out of Boston and plans on racing in all five boros. So all you out-of-towners, come to NYC, race, and see parts of the city that even most of NYC's veteran messengers haven't been to. oh, and win the bike - Jacobs doesn't want to make himself a bike, ya heard?

Check out bikeblog for a round up of photos that have been posted so far plus a quicky video of the start.

Lots more to come. Kevin Dillard's photos will be up in a few days.

Video to come - Play In Traffic Productions and SNY (the Mets sports network) captured the whole race in video.

Results will be posted in the next couple of days at www.5borogenerals.com. Stay tuned.

Next race in the 5BoroGenerals: Broadway Bombin' July 4th NYC - Stakes is high!
