You just guaranteed that I'm never coming home now.
And I want to see a picture of the look.

I think he was talking about the organizers of the race and how big it is getting, not those (cool) hubs. I think it's pretty awesome that folks are coming from everywhere to race on streets I ride everyday.

The majority of the hills on the course are relatively short. But I wouldn't recommend following the exact course as outlined on the website. There are shorter, less hilly routes. You'll find them before the race gets going too far.
That said, if you're coming from st.pete, the steep 20ft driveway into the staging area might be all you can handle. Go ride up some parking decks for practice or something.

I mean, there are hills everywhere. It's horrible. I had to go uphill to get to the bathroom in my apartment. Taking a bath was difficult since all the water would run out of the tub.

Um, all I saw were pretty pretty purple hubs.
mmm.
Oh, ok, and a team list.
Yay!
The hills are...well...you'll find out? The route's not too hilly, just getting from Octane to Skate Escape has at least one big hill and getting from Skate Escape to No Brakes might because you can't go through Piedmont Park.
We'll try to get everyone from out of town together on Friday night at some point to ride the route and drink beers for practice.
And the housing situation is still on hold. I haven't heard back from my friend, but no worries, you'll have a roof to sleep under on Friday night.

It's like a 7 hour drive from St. pete I'm trying to leave around 11 or 12 Friday I have room for 1 or two more and their bikes, as long as you don't mind not having a seat in a minivan

Seven or eight hours maybe? I don't remember. I do remember rocking out to some Christian station that was playing Jesus rap in Tampa though. It was classy.

I watched the turn of the century on the History channel solo and I'm feeling lonely and all nostalgic and *****. But that has nothing to do with what we're talking about here.

Yesterday in preparation for the fm24/07 race I rode half of the distance I am planning on riding in the fm24/07 race.
EDIT: Sorry I really didn't mean to derail the discussion RE the logistics of getting here from there, I'm looking forward to possibly meeting ya'll.

What? So you can take out your competition early? Leave the out-of-towners be...
Oh, and don't let Ohio get you soft!
I trained with beer and a couple of hills tonight. The hills were bad, the beer was not.

If we're talking about training with alcohol. I trained with margaritas it Chiang Mai Saloon and did a 10k time trial home.
Damnit. I really want to do this race again. Although I can always say I went out undefeated, from the sounds of it josh is going to obliterate my record. Maybe if someone slipped some visene in his waterbottle...
Speaking of water, I hope they have a better plan than last year when I had to drink out of the bathroom faucet.

This year I've already committed to Louisville's Mondo Alleycat, but I'll do everything I can to make sure Cincy represents hard next year.
