Jacksonville's Sunday Sixer
For anyone and everyone interested:
On September 2, Jacksonville will be hosting an alley cat of sorts. It's going to be a six-stop race that spans the breadth of Jacksonville's illustrious downtown and its adjacent neighborhoods.
What's a Sunday Sixer, you ask? It's pretty simple (and at the same time simply amazing). It's basically a beer-infused race all across Jacksonville. Everyone starts at the same point, and upon a signal opens her or his beer. After that it's a matter of speed: on your bike and with your beer.
Before you can leave any stop, you've got to finish your 12-oz can of beer* (type has yet to be determined, but it's guaranteed to be cheap and cold).
To sum it up: six beers, six stops. Sick. So come race and have a good time. It's Labor Day weekend and there will be a party afterwards.

(*Non-alcoholic alternatives are available upon request.)
If you've got any questions, visit/message:
this Web site, or
the Sunday Sixer site.
P.s. This isn't a prize race; it's a pride race.
P.p.s. $5 gets you entry, beer, and probably a spoke card if we're feeling generous.

Plenty of beer in the fridge, so come on over, and bring some friends. And, hey, maybe some bikes.

Yeah, we tested this idea out a couple months ago and it was amazing.
The race is gonna be a bit longer this time, though, and hopefully all the more crucial.

Bump ... because our alley cat is this Sunday and we'd really like to get some out-of-towners into our lovely city. You know you want to.

hurumph. My bike coop decided to a shop overhaul this weekend. I'd rather be riding bikes and drinking beer though!

No sweat. There will be more Sixers to come; right now, we're doing one about every two months.. And they can only get better, right?

For all those curious, we had a good turn-out, around 30 riders ... or about 180 beers.
Thanks to everyone who came out, especially you riders from Charleston.
If you missed out this time, keep your ears posted for news about the next race.
