March 9th! Best in Show Race in Cincinnati.

Mikey C. and K-TRAIN are developing a day's worth of bicycle mayhem. 10 bucks gets you entrance into the main race and gold sprints at night! Registration is at 2 pm for the 3 pm Best in Show race with all proceeds going to Mr. Brent Emoff whose body and bike were broken in a recent accident. We're going to shoot for a new frame so he can be back climbing the **** out of some hills in short order. The race will be themed around some rough hills, but with enough strategy involved for those who shiver at the sight of the likes of Straight St. This will be a points race covering much of the downtown, N. Ky, and Clifton areas. In the night, at the Gypsy Hut (4232 Spring Grove Ave.) we'll have the debut of Cincinnati's own ROLLER RACING/GOLD SPRINTS/SPINTILYOUDIE MACHINE. After the standard skids, stands, etc. at the finish, we'll head inside to punish all comers on our rollers.

What happened to Brent?
I've been wanting a reason to come home for a couple of days – maybe this will be my reason.

Brent got smashed in a hit and run incident. He broke his collarbone, shoulderblade and bike. Definetely come down. You'll get to see ohio's first Goldsprints race.

That really sucks about Brent. Was he working at the time? That boy and gravity don't get along.
Big props on getting Goldsprints going. Robb told me all about it when he came through here a few weeks ago and crashed on my floor on his way to Minneapolis.

My new bike should be here early this coming week so I'll have about a week to get ready
I haven't been riding since November due to selling my bike to fund a new build. Anyway, hoping it gets here, I really want to come up and support.

I could use some help here. How do the points work? Do I get anything for being the 6th rider to the checkpoint? Forgive me for sounding stupid. This sounds like fun but I've never done one before.

As far as I know, no you will not get points for being sixth at a checkpoint. I wouldn't worry about that too much though. If this is your first, you should show up, be careful, don't get run over, and have a whole lot of fun. I guarantee it will be fun. The more the merrier.

The points are given on a first-come-first-serve basis. Only top five too each checkpoint get any points. There are also going to be some top secret suprises to add to the fun. Don't worry about being too competitive, there are so many checkpoints that even if you walk to one of them, you are bound to get some points. Come out and have some fun
Also, we'll be playing polo on Saturday at 5pm at fairview german language school.
See you all on Sunday!

Alleycats can't possibly be cancelled due to weather...NACCC '06 qualifiers took place in a tropical storm (the remnants of a hurricane), Dayton's Iditarod three man race pushed through slush similar to what's on the best plowed streets today. However...
The Best in Show alleycat/dog has been rescheduled for Sunday March 23rd -same time, same place. We don't want anyone acting a fool and breaking bones, so in the best interests of everyone we will be back better than ever three days after spring begins.

I live in Athens currently but i'll be in Dayton on the 23rd, so i'll consider coming down for this, despite the fact i have to get my wisdom teeth yanked out the next day.
