Is there any possibility of this happening? There's a chance I may be able to make it to Toronto this weekend but I'd kind of need to know sooner than later.

I have to get out and stretch my legs without cars and lights and such. Are those rides around the EX grounds happening or anything like that? I'll still be on my SS so bringin' up the back isn't a problem.

The Ride For Life training rides are going on each Saturday this month and they are open to the public. I think this Saturday's ride is a 50km ride out by Port Credit...

Does anyone know a good place to pick up cycling-friendly Rx-able sunglasses in downtown Toronto? The internet fails me.

Heh, wow, this is very telling. I guess everyone has seen this week's NOW magazine with Igor on the cover? This guy's agent must be working overtime...

I hope everyone has been riding safe, I got sideswiped last week, first time I have ever had any encounter with a car. Nothing was broken and I didn't even fall off the bike, I just lost balance and my rear fender was smunched up a bit but the bastard didn't stop so I (and 3 witnesses, it happened in the Annex) called the cops and they picked him up a few blocks away.

Glad you're okay Jet. Igor is so 2009, can someone please come up with a poster boy for anything at all that doesn't make me throw up in my mouth as much as that insignificant twonk does?

Glad you're ok Jet, AND that the driver got picked up. I second that foul taste in my mouth as I keep seeing Igor everywhere.

Thanks guys, I am glad it was only a fender-bender (literally) too.

When the guy didn't stop, I figured that maybe he was drunk or something so that was the only reason I called the cops. I had noticed him earlier on as he was driving super aggressively---darting in and out of traffic to pass cars, racing a couple of cabs, etc. I made a mental note to keep my eye on him but I passed him at Bathurst and so when I heard the roar of an engine in my ear, I moved over as far right as I could but it wasn't enough---it was the same a-hole guy trying to pass another car.

Not to toot my own horn but a less experienced cyclist would probably have been smoked pretty hard, this guy just was that careless. Anywho, the cops cleared him of any possibility of being drunk or stoned and told him to cool it and that was that...there were no damages to anything so I wasn't going to press the issue, I just hope the guy does chill out with his attitude in the future...

Update in case anyone's looking for glasses...

I went to Phila Optical today and they were awesome. Friendly, super-comfortable-making service, knowledgeable staff, and reasonable prices. Woot.

"The remnants of the bicycles were scattered over a 45-metre stretch, along with the truck's side mirror." Thats what scares me!

BTW, im building a fixie right now. Anyone know the cheapest place in toronto to get a track cog and lockring?

Thanks!
