Yes, I'm in there a few times every week, generally just after work during the week and early morning on the weekends. Catalyst and Skyline have been kicking my ass this year.

Edit: I meant "Sky-Pilot" ...

I was riding in the Don yesterday and found some sections super slick with mud. I was planning on a ride in there tomorrow, but I think with the updated calls for rain, I'm going to sit it out. I don't find it much fun when you can't ride you just slide.

I heard ads on the radio this morning saying you needed to use hands free now while driving. But I can't find anything to say whether this is currently the law or if it's coming soon. Anyone know?

i don't think they've set a date for it to go into effect yet, they just passed it very recently (last week?) and when it passed i thought they said sometime in the fall

maybe they changed it though

Does anyone have an old braze-on front derailleur sitting in their parts box that they would like to sell or trade?

And what is with the October weather today?

I might have an old Ultegra/600 one. It might be an 8 or 7 speed, tho.

Hrm, that sounds interesting...is it from the old Tri-colour group? I haven't figured out how I am going to build up this new Ciocc yet, I have pretty much everything except a braze-on front derailleur.

Can I use an old front derailleur with a newer group? I am thinking that an Ultegra 9-speed group would work but I am not sure....

Your call: last time I used it with a 10 speed group, the cage was too wide for proper shifting.

anyone know where I would be able to find decently reliable, smooth riding, GUMWALL tires in 700x23c?
looked online, but finding stuff like Grand Bios/Challange are great, however whats their reliability like?
that and I would rather buy local.

willing to go up to 700x25c...

Toronto, April 22 2009: with Bill 118, Ontario joins Quebec and Nova Scotia in the fight against distraction at the wheel. These provinces in Canada work to ban drivers from using hand-held cellphones. Only hands-free in-car devices and Bluetooth headsets are allowed.

done like dinner

veloflex do sound pretty good, but they are widest in a 22c. but mounted I have read its like a 21c...

that and they wear pretty quickly, but prob cuz its a really sticky soft compound.
looking for something a touch wider and longer lasting.

veloflex are the only ones that seem to be decently available

if you're willing to hunt, panaracer pasela and vredestein fortezza are two to look for, although i think the fortezza's are mostly made with a black sidewall now, so panaracer may be your best bet

Yes most Veloflexes have a tan sidewall. Pricey and not wide. I have a pair of black (non-tan). Great tires but haven't ridden enough to comment on durability.

Panaracers Pasela/Tourguards are nice. Urbane had the tan 32s at 28$. 23-25-28s exists online and maybe somewhere in town (let me know!)

Btw tan sidewalls will look dirty after a while...
