Mike if you are running 10spd on that bike (and it is a rear wheel you need) I have a wheel you can borrow indefinitely.
Also, I have found the best lube for Mavic freehubs is Shimano freehub grease. Whose very existence makes no sense because as far as I can tell Shimano doesn't make a rebuildable freehub (maybe Saint).

It is actually neon green and comes in a tiny plastic jar........the fact that they make two different kinds of freehub grease is pretty much unfathomable.

question gals/guys... have u ever parked your bike somewhere, where you return to see the entire rig missing?
you ask security and they direct you to your bike, sans lock, telling you they cut it because it was not locked at the bike rack.
this happened to me and my krypto evo is now no more?!!!!
i know this is private property and all, but has this happened to anyone here, and can i do anything to get paid for a new lock?!
on another note, i donuted in the rain on sunday, completely feet soaked by mid ride... fun tho.. 20+ guys still in the pack at the end.
i was the only one on steel, had fenders and only 1 gear....... (single speed, not fixed tho)

They removed the bike because it was locked somewhere they didn't like? How long did they wait? In any case that's harsh... You could call the company I guess.

they removed the bike within 3 hrs, since i was working a 1/2 day, i parked at 8:30, out at 12 and it was done!

Fenders.... no good fender coverage on a road bike 'cept for maybe those clip ones that screw onto the stays but I can't see many roadies goin' for those either, just something else to slow them down/rattle/fail. Look at it like your at a spa exfoliating. just as long as you don't catch road crap in the eye. 48:16 singles speed hey that's me!

i used sks raceblade fenders on my road bike on sunday for ~70k
coverage isn't as good as full fenders obviously, but they did the job, my back stayed dry, my bottles stayed clean and my feet didn't get soaked
good: they are real easy to put on/take off, the newest ones have a little mud flap, super easy to adjust, lightweight
bad: stability is an obvious issue with only 1 connection point they will constantly rub against your tires and make noises, if you don't adjust them properly they can funnel rain right into your shoes, expensive for what they are

I was coming back from King City w/ some people awhile back ... we had a tailwind and one of the guys who enjoys riding TTs went to the front to hammer for a bit. I got on his wheel, tucked in and maintained 52km/h behind him. 52km/h using 38x14 = 155rpm, which is the highest cadence I've ridden at for any length of time. It completely blows my mind when I then think about the cadences track racers get up to.

Anyway, were you comfortable w/ that gearing in the Donut group? I'm pretty happy w/ my setup ... 30-40km/h works out to about 90-120rpm, which is great for the "people who ride but not-so-much race" class of rider I normally train with for the Bike Rally.

Rode back from downsview to my place at Danforth and Greenwood in 45 minutes, that's an awesome ride. Gradual downhill just about the entire way and there's was no hint of wind tonight. Except for the fat moron who almost u-turned into me, one of the best rides I've had in a long time. Just flew the entire way and only had to stop at two lights

I only had a quick sprint up to the subway station and back yesterday to get a day pass, even on that short ride got told to "calm down" by a driver, they were all slowing for the speed bumps on Sorauren, like hell I was going to do that
155rpm .. sheesh, I know I can't hold 40km/h for very long at all on the flat, and that's only around 120rpm with 46x17. I usually ride around 90/100rpm though I guess, I think around 30-35km/h. Downhill I've hit ridiculous rpms, but on the flats I've only reached maybe 48km/h (usually on the Bloor/Danforth viaduct) which I think is only 145rpm, and isn't sustained... more of a sprint effort. Reading this makes me realise I need to step up my spin game.
edit: anywhere in town stock/sell Velocity B43s (deeper profile than the Deep-V I'm told) - my buddy out west is trying to find some and figured Toronto has a better chance than Grand Prairie.

Well getting settled in Kingston. $400 for books, ugh. al least there is some good riding to be done. Think I might head out to Sandbanks Sunday evening. Time to bug sweep and go for some rides.

Flim - got out of downsview and found keele wasn't actually as sketchy as I expected it would be. Took that down to Davenport which has to be one of my new favorite cycling roads. Traffic is calm, 40kph speed limit and nobody gave me crap for ignoring the bike lane that was 100% in dooring range of all the parked cars. Then Bloor/Danforth all the way across which isn't one of my favorite roads at all but seems to always be a great way to get east quickly.
Riding up I didn't realize Keele had a split and I ended up out at the end of friggin Weston Road of all places
