Who is going to Critical Mass this friday in Philly?

I'll be going for the first time (probably alone) and won't know anyone. Does anyone want to meet up beforehand?

I'm coming in from South Jersey...

EDIT: next Friday!

A CM is an event I'd gladly attend. We don't have that stuff, over here; perhaps because cyclists are so highly regarded already? But CM looks like a fun thing.

you can try to host some kind of party ride with a few people. Maybe spread the word at the nearest university. Get people to ride in costumes and have a route that stops at some interesting places, maybe even make spoke cards for the event. Be sure to have a music trailer! Maybe do it at night so there isn't traffic.

I don't know how riding bikes is viewed in Finland. Is it something totally normal and people wont care for it?

can I ride my mo'sickle? Has anyone ridden CM in Philly before? Where do they ride to? Is it cliquish like Philly tends to be (folks dont tend to mingle with folks they dont know...pretty girls are an exemption), When's that 'nekkid' ride I heard so much about?

Pretty much. You're not special if you ride a bike. You're kinda special if you ride a recumbent, though. Or a fixie

By the way, this is as good a moment as any to tell you: I keep misreading your nick as "Harriet".

I'm flattered that you sense my feminine side.

You remind me a lot of one of my ex GFs, only she was about half as tall. And prettier, of course. Oh yeah, and her hands were about 1/10th of yours!

Anyway, this thread has been moved to the cemetery. Nobody reads it or cares for it.

I could be saying any random **** and no-one would notice, not even the ever-vigilant mods.

I could say "penis", or "pancake" or "lalala"... all without consequence.

You know, that's some great ideas there - but I'm a bit shy to organize stuff like that. I would totally rock some costume while cycling, though. That would be bad!

Philly CM

Ah, I'm gonna be out of town. What are some other community bike rides in Philly? And what's this about Philly being clique-ish? No more so than NY or SF, imo.
