The Works: Vol. IV, June 14th! Philly alleycat returns to benefit youth cycling!
Online pre-registration includes a free drink ticket!
Have you ever downed 5 scoops of mayonnaise to honor the hoagie or done a bike tire ring toss while wearing a wolf mask? If yes, then you probably have completed a checkpoint in The Works alley cat bike race in motion since 2011. If not, you should race the fourth annual on Saturday, June 14. All proceeds from The Works benefit youth cycling programs in Philadelphia, and the ride is organized by a group of volunteer facilitators from Neighborhood Bike Works - a local nonprofit organization that seeks to create educational, recreational, and career-building opportunities for urban youth through bicycling .
The Works starts at Race St Pier at 4pm (sign up at 3pm) and continues with an after-party at Beaumont Warehouse at the Sherwood Oak (5027 Beaumont Ave.). Cave Life, Wet Food, Pushin It 2 the Limit, The Cats, and G.T. Arpe will be performing, and prizes will be awarded from 33 local and national sponsors. Little Babys Ice Cream will be serving a one-of-a-kind The Works flavor at the after-party, which will also be available at their Cedar Park Embassy shop (4903 Catherine St.) starting Friday, June 6. For more information or to register, go to The Works: Vol. IV or facebook.com/theworksphilly.
