Hey for you who are doing becel: are you gonna ride your fixies? I kinda want to, it'd be a lot of fun spinning like crazy on those long descents, or just unclipping for them.

beautiful cell phone pic

New tools for my arsenal. So nice, but so expensive. People at the shop can not touch my tools or they will die, and now I can actually say that more of them are "MY" tools.

Those of you who work at a shop will probably understand how frustrating it can be when a floor guy borrows a tool and says they will be right back with it and then you go to grab the tool they borrowed and it's nowhere to be found.

i can symathize; we have a similar problem in the kitchen.

PS - no reason not to do the ride for heart fixed. just make sure you have sneakers and cyling shorts on with a big baggy ride t-shirt, a white eggy looking helmet, a rusty chain and then start swerving all over the place and you should fit in fine.

I rode it last year on fixed, 75 gear inches = no problem, or you could unclip but I would highly not recommend that. You need to put like gps beacons on all your tools.

aaahhhhahahahaha lolllll

but oh noo, you just reminded me that we usually get a huge rush of people wanting tune-ups a day before "because, I am riding in the Becel Ride for Heart and I just pulled my bike out of the garage"...
ughhh

but we are booking tune-ups for june 14th so too bad for them

Sure..you can borrow my tools..just fill out the requisite forms in triplicate and pay the required $50 deposit. Now that there are 2 of us in the shop I made sure Dave has a full kit of his own. Shurely the floor guys could get a small kit of their own for this purpose? Reaching for a tool and finding out it is not there is not only frustrating but also affects your productivity. Shurely Roger wants full productivity out of his wrenches so get him to put a kit on the floor and be done with it.
Out of curiousity..how much did the Mastercraft digital verniers cost ya?They look exactly like my no-name calipers.

Productivity can be greatly affected when you use that nice blade to chop buddy's finger off for "borrowing" the one tool you need over and over.

Calling it a war doesn't help cyclists at all.

Thought this might be a useful link though:

BTW, i came across a link for live Giro coverage. it's in italian, so the commentary is wasted but you still get to see the race and if i know my italian TV at all, some random casual nudity.
