Forgot about that info, it's 1 1/8 threadless. And one other thing, i was tightening up my chain a little this evening, and it seems that there is half an inch less slack on the tight spot that the rest of the chain. Is half an inch too much difference between the tight/no tight parts or is this about normal?
a) binds the drivetrain at a certain point b) the chain tension between tight enough not to bind and loose enough yet not too loose to have the chain drop on bumps c) personal prefernce in between range b) for trackstanding Sometimes you get lucky with drivetrain components and you get little to no variation in chain tension... and them sometimes it's completely ridiculous like on some bmx bikes. |
Anyone riding tonight? Seems like a good night for some after-dark puttering around.

As for the other dude, well... mmhmm. I'm probably not heading out again, I flew across the city in sprints between lights for the hell of it (hit 50km/h along the flats, woo) and am a touch tired and probably should keep what water is left in my body in there :p Was bloody drenched getting in... Heh. |
Forgot to post this too... Since changing my back tyre over to a Conti Ultra Sport with the kevlar bead (those cheapos from MEC) I've been having this "bump" on each revolution as if my rim is out of round, which I know isn't the case on this bike (no similar symptom prior to tyre change, no recent rim bangs, only been a couple of days)... The tyre *looks* to have a flatter profile along one section where the label/printing is, which I have kinda eye-sighted as where the 'bump' sensation comes from - just wondering, is this something anyone else has experienced? Could it just be a dud spot in the tyre? It's not a big deal, and because I'm supremely lazy I likely won't change it out anyway - just curious on what the thoughts are.
It's not a skid flat spot either, it's only been on, from new, for a couple of days and no excessive milage yet (no more than 150/200k) |
feh.. looks like i'm in need of a stem as well.
i guess i shouldn't have gotten frustrated with mine and taken a hammer to it.. doh! |
Hey Wes, remember "smells like beer" Brandon? He just called and asked me to be his best man. Seems he knocked up his lady friend and proposed. I'm having vicarious dry heaves already.
Okay, critical aspects of being a best man and secret tips, everybody - let's hear 'em. *deep breaths ...* |
It's pretty much your job to make sure an event takes place that he will NEVER be able to be honest about with his wife, make a drunken speech at the wedding including many raunchy and needlessly explicit tales of the grooms past sexual/alcoholic/drug related forays, and to not lose the ring.
|
What he said. Although keep in mind that telling the story about how the lovely couple met in a stall in the men's washroom at the House of Lancaster may offend the grandparents on the bride's side.

Deflate and check that the tube is not being pinched anywhere before reseating - it could also be just that the tire seats low in that area. Usually it's the stem/valve area that gets caught when the valve is pulled through and the tire is not seated properly.

The area where the 'bump' is more or less directly opposite the valve stem, I lined up the labels on the rim and tyre so I could visually identify this when riding, the labels being more or less the full 180 degrees from the valve stem. Thanks. |

I think the best mans most important role is to be ther for the groom when he needs it. Like if the groom farts during the I do part, it would be your job to turn to all the people and admit it was you.

i'm off to the cottage for a few days and i'm debating whether or not it's worth it to bring a bike.

I'm debating taking my bike with me to Ottawa for a few days, my buddy doesn't really ride there (bad leg) and I don't really want to ditch him, so who knows... |

My friend just mentioned she got these fitted to her bike: http://www.pinheadcomponents.com/ on her wheels and seatpost.
Interesting idea, anyone know anything about them? |
