gokiburi 06-28-05 12:09 PM

bikeo.. thursday ride sounds good. is there a good way to contact someone in case we have to cancel? cell phone? egg tarts.. damn, i'm hungry.. haven't had lunch yet.

Bikeophile 06-28-05 03:14 PM

i don't want to post my phone number on here, but go to my website and the "CONTACT" number will be forwarded to my cell phone.

By the way SATURDAY I am out...I can't believe I forgot...the TOUR is on! 830am starts a 3 hours preview...and then the prologue is on at 1130am!!!

I knew there was a reason why I bought the big screen!!!

Shiznaz 06-28-05 03:36 PM

I knew there was a reason why I'll be there in person!!!

Anyways, bikeophile, do you know if keith has shipped the wheels I ordered from him? If they don't get here by the 1st of july I won't get to use them until I get back to Canada, which means I'll just have extra luggage and the shipping of the wheels will have been a waste. I would assume they are on the way because I paid for them on May 12th, but I haven't been able to get in touch with Keith for quite a while. Thanks!

operator 06-28-05 03:40 PM

Blah stop it Shiznaz.

Bikeophile 06-28-05 03:59 PM

Shiz...please take lots of pics and bring back souveneirs! I am so envious of you! Have I mentioned that yet? One of these years I'll be there for the Tour. Maybe when Lance Armstrong's son is riding the Tour :)

On the wheel front, I am not sure if he shipped them...I do know that he was looking into the prices on shipping a while ago, but not sure what happened after that. PM me if you want his email address. Personally, if he HASN'T shipped them (which I have no idea), I would tell him to keep them here...the last thing you need is a new wheelset getting banged up on the way home after just getting them. I know for sure that they were built...I saw them looking sweet in the shop a while back.

Bikeo, what's the plan for tomorrow (Thursdays ride at 3:30?)?

Here's a picture of my original fork that I exploded back in April.

Bikeophile 06-29-05 04:07 PM

yeah 330pm sounds good, how about we meet at the Wheat Sheaf again. Any suggestions on a route? We all know that our destination will be Kim Moon, but where do ya feel like riding first?

Head to the path and head West for a while and work up an appetite?

I am heading to the 1245pm showing of WAR OF THE WORLDS...so I should be getting there just in the nick of time! :)

operator 06-30-05 09:20 AM

Bikeo, i'll be at the wheat sheaf at 3:30. I'll pm you my cell phone # in case something happens.

operator 06-30-05 11:53 AM

I got it, leaving now. Maybe we will ride saturday...!

Bikeophile 06-30-05 05:15 PM

Hey guys! Fun ride today! what a scorcher! Once we got out on Lakeshore it was much nicer though...quite a head wind on the way back...we only did around 30km I think..but the Pork Buns were awesome as usual!!

So tomorrow is the Chin Picnic races...According to the midweek club there races start at 8am tomorrow, but I think there may be a race starting at 730am..

I am planning on heading there for 8am...anyone want to go?? If so, bring a lock for your bike and meet me at the Corner of Yonge and the Esplanade at 730am and we'll ride over together.

If I don't see anyone at 730am I will head there myself. I will have my cell (the number is listed on my website) also.

Seeya tomorrow maybe

Shiznaz 06-30-05 05:56 PM

so, I was doing a little research on Grenoble (I am going there on the 2nd), and I found the site for their Palais des Sports, which is a kind of professional multisport center with a nice full size wooden banked velodrome. Anyways, their website is made in flash and terrible, but the photos from their annual 6 day track races are hilarious. Its like track racing meets cabaret meets cirque de soleil meets rock concert meets fine dining. The pictures will explain what I mean. Essentially bare bones track bikes and bare titties. I can't link directly, so just go past the intro to the main part of the site and click on '6 jours cyclistes' and then go through the sections and click on the images on the right.

I wish I was there when this was going on but I'll bet the tour will be even more crazy so no biggie.

Not me, unfortunately, I'm busy healing. Ramming to beat a light, got cut off, hit the brake and flew with the greatest of ease... Sometimes I think riding brakeless would be a better option as I'd keep my speed down given that I seem to crash every 6 months or so. No serious damage, just a bit of road rash and sore ribs, but I think I have a date with relaxation this weekend to heal up.

Bikeophile 07-01-05 04:30 AM

ah geez man!! Get some rest! Well at least the Tour is on this weekend, so you can keep entertained while you're at home resting!

cavit8 07-01-05 08:38 AM

If I had a TV that would be the case :D

I'll probably sit in the backyard with a couple pints and contemplate the twenty I'm building up for touring.

operator 07-01-05 10:19 AM

Yep, drink lots of beer cavit8 that should speed the healing process. Then we can all go for a ride :bday:
Seems to be a bad month for people, I know a couple people who've gotten hit by cars.

Bikeophile 07-01-05 04:58 PM

Cav its your birthday?
No TV? come over to our place and watch some tour!

cavit8 07-01-05 06:19 PM

Nope, my birthday's in January. Thanks for the offer re the tour but I have stinkloads to do around the house this weekend.

operator 07-01-05 07:45 PM

Hey Bikeo what's the plan for tomorrow?

Bikeophile 07-07-05 04:10 PM

Geez...page 4...where is everyone? :)
Hope you guys are enjoying the tour, and getting some riding in.

I am getting my baby repainted....or should I say de-paintified? Gonna get the paint blasted off, and then the aluminum polished.

Oh OPERATOR....I have a pair of those Look Cleat Covers for ya. Not too expensive either...email me when you get a chance.

Anyways, hope you guys are doing well...Had DIMSUM at Kim Moon the other day....Pork Dumplings = Good, Chicken feet = bad!

Bikeophile 07-08-05 08:58 PM

Where is everyone?

operator 07-08-05 10:16 PM

Nice!
I love good news.

Here's my bad news du jour, two cracks in paint near headtube lug, top tube AND down tube :(
I chipped a bit of the paint away but can't tell, i'm going to the cavern tomorrow. My beloved Bianchi.. nooo.!

Bikeophile 07-09-05 05:50 AM

That sucks!!
Maybe you'll have to get a FIXED GEAR bike now!!!

Shiznaz 07-09-05 06:35 AM

that bianchi frame was a cherry too! at least its steel so its still probably salvageable. maybe george at parts unknown has some new goodies in stock now... but don't ever get him to build you a wheel, he takes forever!

Bikeophile 07-09-05 07:56 AM

Op - If it is in fact cracked...Take it to Bicycle Specialties. They are amazing, reasonably priced, and quick to do get anything done. I've had them do work for me, and have seen some of their frame repairs..excellent work!

Bikeophile 07-10-05 05:45 AM

HEADING OUT FOR A RIDE AFTER THE TOUR STAGE TODAY....Anyone up for it?
Im planning on riding WEST (and grabbing a small bite to eat at some point).

orguasch 07-10-05 06:04 AM

Rob,
I will ride with the Donut, be leaving shortly
