Yep, they look like they need replacing as well but he is including a set of rollers with the bike...

ps- who knows about Gianna frames? I just came across one and wondered about it. The one I have is ishiwata tubing.

Hrm, sounds Italian but the tubing is Japanese. I've been told that the Miele bike company was making many of the lower-end and mid-range Bianchis that were sold in Canada during the '80s, maybe Gianna is similar to this, an Italian-sounding bike made in Canada out of Japanese steel.

I think the Miele/Bianchis were made from Tange tubing though.

Fiori also comes to mind; Italian sounding but Canadian made from Tange tubing as well.

Both my miele's are tange tubing, although I have seen a few with the japanese tubes.

It seems like a decent frame. Lugged. Forged dropouts and Sugino cranks (I only have the frame fork headset cranks and BB) Perhaps I'll take a closer look at it tomorrow to see if I can make out any other . It's in decent condition... trying to decide if I might build it up or not. I think I can round up a full 600 arabesque grouppo to put on it...

Not sure if cross forum posting is encouraged, but this is too funny, and for some too true (me in India once or twice).

So apparently its actually a Gianella. Which is possibly a house brand from a shop in Montreal, or a rebadged marinoni. Ishiwata Magny tubes and Sakae SX cranks.

going up christie after a group ride with wes, brad, mike + so, and i get the right hook from a guy that made a no-signal / 1-flip-signal turn. I was ~ 5m behind going ~36km/h, so no real time to react, but he clearly didn't check any mirrors before making the turn... anyways, i go under his right wheel, he stops, but reaction is delayed. He gets out, checks me out, backs up his car a little. Meanwhile, I'm thinking to call the cops, and I tell him this. He suggests we just exchange insurance info and part ways... so I call the cops, they show, take our statements, and I was told he was gonna be charged. I guess he was, and sought to fight it...

Hope he gets nothing but punishment kergin!

Ouch @ those CK headsets

That Viner looks very beautiful... wow.

Met a dude at GO Danforth with a rather neat looking Steelwool, he had an Alfine hub on the back and had it set up for light touring/commuting (CX type tyres, discs all round, fenders, nice lighting rig) - very pleasant chap, I completely forgot to get his name but it was a nice change to see a cyclist on the GO and able to have a chat with him, thanks random fellow crazy bike dude!

I guess the weather needs no mention. No wind for the ride in was beautiful, however. I need to shave my beard anyway, but I did notice the pain of my moustache freezing up with snot/sweat (my nose drips like crazy during heavy cardio, in the cold even moreso) - with the "wipe" area on my glove already freezing over after a while, it gets to be a real problem. I just left it in the end and had a nice frosty moustache - not really sure if there's anything I can do about this.

Also, toes were blocks of ice. Need toe covers, as the rest of my feet were just fine. Damn vents.

Do you wear the mec booties for the wind? I find mine work great for cutting out the wind and cold.

I only wear them when it's actually wet/rainy, though they do a great job so I should - I might experiment with a 3-layer sock system, too.

I've got to head to Yonge/St. Clair tomorrow morning so it's going to be ball bustingly cold (in the regions of -20 I believe).

Yay!
