oh ( sorry slow here) the grippness fo me was great but they really suck in the snow BUT on ice they rocked only problem was they are a seriouse pain in the *ss to put on the rim

i remember it well...we were joking that if we'd closed the doors he'd have won just by running himself against the boards. what he needed was a mechanism to lean that back wheel, it was taking on some serious lateral pressures.

I'm running 26"x1.25 specialized slicks on my MTB now but am always looking for something different (read better). Even pumped to 90 or 100 psi I can still feel and visually see the sidwalls of the tire folding over when I'm out of the saddle pedalling hard. They work....but still a little unsettling... like I could rip the tire apart if I bounced off a curb at the wrong angle

the levers were great but I did'nt like the brakes way out there when racing around in the core that's why I changed them inboard for quiker braking times on those old steel rims

I'm always fascinated by people riding ss brakeless. I followed a guy briefly today who seemed to be riding fixed until he coasted through an intersection. Very interesting.

i found they worked well. at one time, i was living out in etobicoke (mimico) and used to commute downtown on them in most weather conditions without any issues.

you can run those levers on bullhorns but the cable routing can be a bit of a hassle. The best brake action will result from putting the levers on with the lever blade facing forward...to aid in a clean cable run. The downside is if you ever clip anything with yer bars you will likely hit the lever...not good.

I have some NOS Velocity mtb rims that are super sweet...I will give you a deal. If you are interested, P.M. me. i have also dome quite a few 26" to 650c conversions on peoples mtn bikes. The rim is slightly larger diameter but the brakes usually have enuf reach. This swap makes a mtn bike a little steet rocket.
