i remember it well...we were joking that if we'd closed the doors he'd have won just by running himself against the boards. what he needed was a mechanism to lean that back wheel, it was taking on some serious lateral pressures.

STEEKER 05-16-06 06:51 PM

I was the guy yelling at the east end of the rink where the hockey nets were , I wonder at how many G's that trike was pulling awesome

Steeker, how do those TT levers brake compared to regular aer0 levers? The return spring on my levers give a really nice feel.

And oh yeah, I got down to urbane at around 6:30 and they were closed :/ Great. That's why you didn't see me.

That sounds like fun. We could sit by the road side smoking big stinky cigars.

which shop are these at??
I'm running 26"x1.25 specialized slicks on my MTB now but am always looking for something different (read better). Even pumped to 90 or 100 psi I can still feel and visually see the sidwalls of the tire folding over when I'm out of the saddle pedalling hard. They work....but still a little unsettling... like I could rip the tire apart if I bounced off a curb at the wrong angle

the levers were great but I did'nt like the brakes way out there when racing around in the core that's why I changed them inboard for quiker braking times on those old steel rims

I'm always fascinated by people riding ss brakeless. I followed a guy briefly today who seemed to be riding fixed until he coasted through an intersection. Very interesting.

operator 05-16-06 09:07 PM

Cavit8 you going to come out on sat.

Unlikely, he had chopped bars, no tape, road conversion. Not exactly a coaster brake situation.

Operator: what's on Saturday?

operator 05-16-06 09:35 PM

i found they worked well. at one time, i was living out in etobicoke (mimico) and used to commute downtown on them in most weather conditions without any issues.

i did a quick check online, and they are apparently called "SPECIALIZED TURBO/S ATB". there is a little more info. here:
http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqP...Ejt%3D19130645 (i could only find them on the US website)

And for ****s sake, where on earth can I find Deda bar tape locally (in stock, not order I can do that myself) ? Free beer to anyone who knows.

you can run those levers on bullhorns but the cable routing can be a bit of a hassle. The best brake action will result from putting the levers on with the lever blade facing forward...to aid in a clean cable run. The downside is if you ever clip anything with yer bars you will likely hit the lever...not good.

I have some NOS Velocity mtb rims that are super sweet...I will give you a deal. If you are interested, P.M. me. i have also dome quite a few 26" to 650c conversions on peoples mtn bikes. The rim is slightly larger diameter but the brakes usually have enuf reach. This swap makes a mtn bike a little steet rocket.

eyefloater 05-17-06 06:47 AM

Commision ... oooh, you're a funny man.

cavit8 05-17-06 08:34 AM

You mean they actually pay you a salary to not know the price of any of the items I want? :D
