I'm doing the ride myself so I may see you out and about.
Yeah, I didn't know about the walkout either (my route has way more cars than transit, so I don't always notice). Leslie was rock solid from Finch to Sheppard. I also saw more cyclists than ever today on that route, when I *may* see one. A couple of them were shoulder checking every two seconds so likely not regular bike commuters. The only downside is that people would normally take transit drive. Not always a good thing if they don't know what they're doing. I'm not looking forward to going under the 401 on Leslie on my way home unless the cars are bumper to bumper. |
41 degrees with the humid-x; who's going riding!?
|
oh man just after riding to school today I had sweat pouring off me.
but we have to get used to it it'll be this hot for the whole summer |
Yeah, the hotness made me wuss out of biking to Mississauga so I was on my way to the subway when my friend told me about the strike. Yay for unintentional days off!

Hey Rob, what do you have to do to volunteer on the DVP ride? just email them and ask them? I'm not a tbn member... I may end up just forking over the 30 bucks, as its for a good cause and I'm lazy. Let me know if its easy though and if Emma could volunteer too.
|
It's easy, just call Joe and he'll ask for your name if you are not a member (I know cause I called - haven't renewed my membership). He'll fill you in some basic info and that's it.

Ok quick question for you mechanics out there. Where do I start measuring for BB size? 68mm/70mm. Is it alright if I put a 68mm bb in a 70mm bike or vice versa?

Please strike more. In fact please strike tomorrow so i don't have to class. PS I'm getting this squeaking noise from my bike. Cranks tight, pedals swapped, happens sitting or standing, checked frame for cracks, nothing. BB? Anything I missed? |
I don't have chainring bolts. I think I fixed it however, right pedal regrease. I hope it's not the BB cause MAN.

Hahaha, ya ... sorry, I was having a low moment. My hours are totally the same length of time, I'm just very much so an "early shift" person when it comes to work. I didn't mean to imply that I have it rougher than anyone else because god knows there's people out there w/ tougher jobs everyday.
/end apology for moment of self pity PS. I actually just ran out the back door and rode around for 10 minutes. Felt WORLDS better after that. |
Goldsprints Tonight, event begins 7pm, Gladstone Hotel.
Part of the CBN event at the Gladstone tonight, there is an auction, music, exhibits I think & general fun-ness. I'm thinking about going, but I feel pretty beat now, my messer company called me up & asked me to work cause of that strike dealie so I went in and covered a bunch resulting in a fatigued funk I feel now. Maybe I'll show up after dinner and watch you guys n gals race? You all any you going? |
LAME. It's 31 degrees in my room. FTS. This calls for a midnight ride.
