hahahah.. that building cracks me up too. I love the neon sign for club paradise.

Oi. I went out for all you can eat korean bbq for lunch. I don't know if I'm going to make it through the afternoon. I'm entering a serious meat-induced coma right now.

Somnambulant where was that place with the steak / potatoes thing. $?

Yes & yes
Note to all put protection around your music device when riding. I dropped my ipod last night it’s now not working but i have a friend who also has a 3rd gen that he’s since updated hopefully i can make one out of them?
Not good!
Cheers

Did my 5-6k sprint into the core for work at 1:00pm @ 32degrees...sweaty fun
My hand seems to be healing up pretty well, the pain at the tracks has just about abated.

Any room for June10 still?.... I still need to find those bleepin' shoes though, but I gots time I think.

it's probably the most depressing sight in the city. most mornings when i ride by there's a woman in her 60s or so, wearing stocking/hairnet, smoking a cigarette sweeping the front entrance. i can only imagine.

nothing like the late lunch meat coma. whatever you don't have a beer with lunch, then you're finished!

TRaffic Jammer 05-30-06 12:53 PM

Totally, everytime I have a pint with lunch I want a nap!!!
It's a very rare occasion

All this talk about food and strip clubs made me remember a sign they used to have up at Filmores on Dundas. "Lunch Special. Steak and a lap dance. $24.99" I always thought to myself...what kind of loser buys a steak at a strip club anyway? Nothing like that musky ***** smell to work up an appetite!

korean bbq for lunch is awesome. last time me and my friends went to one in scarborough, we got kicked out because we were there for 3+ hours... and we were trying to stay for dinner.

also, I'm def. in for June 10th if there is still space. I posted it a bit ago, but it was never brought up again :(

also... theres this awesome korean place near bathurst station. (near honest ed's)
that is kinda below street level. and for $8 bucks you get to sit in front of this HUGE pan,
and the waitress comes up and dumps a bucket of marinated meat and cabbage into it.
She just lets it cook and stew for about 15 mintues.
its AMAZING!
especially in the winter.
and for an extra dollar, you can order sticky rice to throw onto the pan after you are done.
So you basically flatten the rice in the pan to make a rice pancake and let it soak up all the marinating sauce and stuff...
amazing stuff as well. and you feel quite satisfied afterwards. oh. and on the menu it says tips & tax included :)
good times.

Perhaps an updated list would be appropriate? Somnambulant?
My buddy will be driving down for the good times also. He will no doubt have space if needed. the only caveat is he will be heading back around 5ish for a show that night.

all-you-can-eat-meat..yikes. heh, i bet your clothes stink right?! :D the only thing that could possibly be worse are the multitudes of indian buffet choices downtown. i've learned my lesson and it's light lunches for me from now on. buffets give me the uncontrollable urge to gorge. what's that they say about quality over quantity?

jeremywhitehorn 05-30-06 01:07 PM

my epic trek of 6km to work and maybe more sweat-fest on the way home. care to join somna, sounds like you have the meat-sweats anyway.

gokiburi 05-30-06 01:07 PM

cavernmech, are you open tomorrow or are wednesdays still the fiesta?

well really, you're paying for the lapdance, the steak is just a bonus! did anyone go to york U? may i remind you of "Diamond Dolls", which was across the street and offered a spaghetti lunch special? i'll admit to going in there once and the sight of the greasy dude in a stained micky mouse sweatshirt sitting in ''perverts row" slurping up a plate of discounted pasta questioned my faith in humanity. but hey when you're a student a cheap meal is a cheap meal...

Cavernmech: You said you have room for you + 4, right?

I have room for me + 3 (without bikes). So as it stands right now, we'll likely have to take your friend up on the offer for more seats.

The plan is to meet up at cavern at 10:00am on Saturday June 10 so we can be on the road early enough to get to London with time to grab some lunch (and digest) before we start at the velodrome.

yes, just like in real life.

they should make one for cyclists where you have to trackstand and ride backwards 360s.

somnambulant 05-30-06 02:11 PM

ps. to the nrrds in the house: I don't know why, but I wasn't enjoying playing oblivion at all and then I decided to give it a second chance and kind of ignore the quests and just go find some dungeons to explore, and now I'm having a lot of fun. Maybe once I level up my character a little I'll find the quests a little more pleasant, or something. One thing I don't know though is how I learn new spells. Do I have to join the mages guild or something? I have lots of scrolls, but I haven't learned anything new.

edit: duh. just looked on gamefaqs and found a list of spells and where to get them.
