Okay, we did music awhile back and I ended up w/ some nice albums from the effort. Soo ... top 5 movies (this has been brought on by the post-alleycat movie talk + drinking session awhile back).
I'll stick to documentaries, since that's what I watch the most of: 1. A Certain Kind of Death - http://imdb.com/title/tt0342180/ 2. Baraka - http://imdb.com/title/tt0103767/ 3. The Fog of War - http://imdb.com/title/tt0317910/ 4. Murderball - http://imdb.com/title/tt0436613/ 5. One Day in September - http://imdb.com/title/tt0230591/ |
Point: PAC bags are more durable due to the fact that the tarp liner is sandwiched between a layer of Cordura and nylon.
Counterpoint: The layer of tarp liner is actually thinner than what's used in other bags due to weight concerns ... and thus cracks, deteriorates, etc. just as quickly but isn't visible. Discuss. |
I'd rather not.

On an unrelated topic...I need some help from the computer savvy folks here. Firstly I have an old computer at home that has a bunch of music (4 gigs) that I want to transfer on to my machine at work. Easy? Hard? Just put the drive in? Help? Secondly a friend of mine gave me an old Mac laptop..Powerbook G3. I know very little of Mac...even less than P.C. which is very little. If it is not hopelessly outdated software wise I would like to start messing with it. Any Mac guys give me some insight? |

The powerbook G3 will probably fine if you want to use it for MP3s, word processing and internet I'll check up to what version of operating system it can run. As for transfering music Boro has it exactly right, it should be super easy.

Discuss. :( and cavernmech, you can always try to transfer stuff through your ipod or external DVD burner and throw all your music onto a DVD. or just do the harddrive swapping thing. |
Follow up on the powerbook, check out this website for a good overview of the powerbook and you can officially run up 10.2 of OS x i think I have those cds kicking around somewhere, if I do I'll try to bring them by before the end of the week.

I like the exposed tarp on the inside of my bags. It looks cool and provides a nice contrast, but its also super easy to wipe clean and nothing ever gets caught on it. Plus Sam told me that UTW does cheap tarp replacements down the line if they wear out. So try getting tahini sauce off the inside of your cordura with a napkin! Go Tarp!
Yeah, that's the one thing I really like about my timbuk2 bag. The (optional) waterproof liner feels super durable and it's really easy to clean up.
.
I have a Timbuk2 aswell before they switched to over sea's production ,,excellent bag no leaks yet |
