hahah.. nope, no damage. It reminds me of Homer on the simpsons.. AAAAAAAAAAH! HOT! AAAAaaaAaa.. ooh.. it's kind of warm.. c-c-c-cold.. so c-c-c-c-cold

Yeah, I've heard of it. A friend of mine was getting it when I was in highschool. Newfoundland apparently has the highest incidence of psoriasis in the world, so I always had good treatment there. Must be all the inbreeding.. ;) Or to use the technical term a "captive population." :P Mine isn't very bad at all though (not much more than pinkish areas on my knees), so I'd prefer to deal with it than blast myself with UV light. It's only a 30s treatment each visitation, but you have to do it quite often for it to do much afaik. Unless it's come a long way in the last 10 years. But my friend had quite the sunburn and then a totally rediculous tan. :P

But yeah.. psoriasis is better than skin cancer. ;)

While I was joking about us all going around in team kit, I find absolutely nothing wrong with wearing a full pro team kit if you're not on the team. What about all other professional sports where fans faithfully put on their team's gear to show support? I guess everyone with a leafs or raptors jersy is a poser *****ot?Why can't cycling be the same? At least the clothing is functional and they are just clothes after all.

Sorry man I don't read the joke well, still sleepy. I hear where you're coming from Shiz. I just think it's kinda different putting on a hockey jersey and going to a game as a fan than buying an exact copy of the team uniform and going out to play a pick up game. If you did that you'd get laughed out of the rink. Yes they are clothes, and at the end of the day that's all they are, but I feel the kit is representative all the hard work that went it to earn the right to wear it. When Thomas Durst of Panasonic gave me his cold weather cap after our ride I didn't go get a copy of his uniform, I think that cheapens their efforts as athletes. I still do occasionally wear his hat proudly. It really is a matter of preference and we can debate this until the Tour comes home. I still love ya Shiz, and will toast beers to ya. :) The concept of poser ****** never crossed my mind nor would it ever. That isn't in my vocabulary.

I might ask Keith for a Cavern Jersey or tee but I wouldn't ask for a Team Cavern jersey, I don't know if I'm articulating this properly.

I didn't stand anyone up, mister! I said I wanted to go for a spin... I never committed to meeting anyone.

However, if it's nice out on Sunday evening, I vote for a lakeside ride to the East or West of the city. Which ever way has better groomed (read: paved) riding. :) I've never headed any further East on my bike than The Beach(es) (along the lake/downtown, anyway).

I just think it's lame to be riding around with giant company logos plastered all over myself, personally. It's one thing to wear a sports team jersey, but riding around looking like a giant T-Mobile ad goes against many of my morals. As if we don't have enough ad-creep as it is, I don't need to add any more on my person!

Yeah.. where'd that come from anyway?

TRaffic Jammer 07-07-06 08:00 AM

hmmm to the sunburn and silly tan... research time. This guy said he only goes every once and a while.
I can get a burn looking at a high res picture of the sun. What's a tan?

I'm too green to burn. ;)

This is probably a silly question, but does anyone know if Jetfuel is showing Tour footage all day? I've got nothing to do after work, so I was considering swinging by and watching some instead of sitting at home by myself. :P

there's a difference between wearing a shirt to cheer on your favourite team and wearing a replica uniform while doing the sport. no one shows up to a game of pick up basketball wearing a head to toe raptors uniform and doesn't get made fun of. sure you CAN wear a full team kit if you're not on the team and the only thing wrong with that is you'll look like an idiot who pays to wear full body advertising.

if it's like last year then they'll be showing the OLN coverage on big screen.

TRaffic Jammer 07-07-06 08:55 AM

Hey how much are cheap bike computers going for these days? Nothin' fancy no heart rates, not cadence.
I ripped Yonge a new one on the way to work today and made lights I've never made today...I REALLY wanted to know how fast I was goin' ...it was at least 50k

MEC sells cheap ones for $20 or so. i also saw some on sale in a bin at Dukes a while ago, around the same price but brand name as opposed to the generics that MEC sells.

to quote eyefloater:
"As far as computers go, I'd recommend the Cateye Mity 8 if you want standard-issue wired. It's a great computer for the money ($35) with tons of features. If you want candence, the Astrale 8 is a good option ($65)."

ps. I've had nothing but trouble with the wireless one I bought at MEC. I've given up on it.

Plus it's time to stop sitting on that coffee coupon. I don't know about the footage, but I'm going to be downtown later. I 'd be up for a coffee if nothing else. What time were you thinking?

TRaffic Jammer 07-07-06 09:57 AM

cool cool that price is half the old avocets I used to ride with. hmmm the tech price curve just isn't always there, they should be 5 bucks

Most week-ends Bikes on Wheels does a sidewalk sale (Sundays?). A basic Sigma goes for around $15. I'm pretty sure I've seen wireless ones for under $30.

Cateye computer's good. Sigma computer's bad. Of the 10 or so Sigma's I have sold people, at least 7 of em had problem's. I would stay away from them.
