All I know about scotch is that I generally can't drink blends, and I REALLY shouldn't ride after drinking a bunch of it. Now we are entering the realm of three seasons worth of clothing for one day's riding. Gloves in the morning, chilly ride gear at lunch and 20 degrees for the ride home.
Keith: It is an eight speed rapid fire I'll be looking for. How nice are the XTR's? EDIT**** damn those shifters are expensive...I'll check to see if I need this integrate nonsense..... hmm SS here I come? |

Op, I'm not on campus on Friday, but can make the run down. I'm heading up to my old workplace (Leslie and Steeles) on Friday morning as the are evidently incapable of operating in my absence. Let me know when you're around and where and I'll bring your new stem. I didn't think you'd want the Zoom logo on it, so I sprayed some oven cleaner on it to get the logo off. I seem to have overdone it though, as it looked kinda mottled. So I rattle-canned it with some black BBQ paint I had kicking around. It looked great! Until I dropped it and the paint just skimmed off. So I painted it again with some rubberized truck bed liner paint I have. Now it looks amazing! You'll be the envy of all. |
Yeah, logos = bad. I'll grab it from you when you're on campus.

Additional shopping..... duct tape, large garbage bags, zip ties and latex gloves and season 4 of CSI on DVD. |
10. New Bike Locker Location
The City of Toronto is pleased to announce a brand new location for the Bicycle Locker Pilot Project. In partnership with the University of Toronto, the City has installed lockers at 371 Bloor Street West (on the corner of Bloor and Spadina in the parking lot behind the building). These lockers are now available for $10 (+GST) a month for a minimum of 4 months. For more information, visit http://www.toronto.ca/cycling/locker.htm |
"There are 4 lockers located in the parking lot behind the building"
Bicycle lockers are available for $10 (+ GST) per month for a minimum of 4 months. Payment must be made in person at the East York Civic Centre by debit card, cash, money order or certified cheque. Shall we have a pool to see which location gets broken into first?.... I know I know, I'm a cynic. I'm going to check out these locations in the near future, I wanna see these things. |

i can't see why they can't allocate a small area beside parking lot booths exclusively for bikes. you can fit a bunch of bikes into the footprint of a car. if you charge the same rate as the new bike lockers of $10/month, 10 bikes would be 100 bucks/month. the gov't could subsidize it so that it's compartively profitable. i'm sure subsidies would be cheaper than what they're doing now. damn, those guys are sitting in the booths doing nothing anyways. parking lots aren't always full and they'd have to be for another source of income. in japan, this is so rampantly commonplace. they've got old uniformed men patrolling around to check that bike parking has been paid for. bike parking is usually outside of train stations and they're jammed with bikes in the morning. for a country that's so rammed for space, they're still somehow able to set aside some for something as unreasonable as parking for bikes. damn..getting pissed thinking about it.
|
Yeah, don't let common sense get in the way of politics. That'd be a ****ing disaster. I had some guy lambast me on facebook for daring to suggest that secure bike parking on campus would be a good idea. He retorted that this would "damage and increase the barriers to cycling"
What a bunch of ****tards. |
Hooray for internet connection at home!!!

found some clips from a movie about bike messengers in NYC in the early 90s. worth watching just for the loud spandex tights. "what's that!??? i can't hear you over you're tights! they're very loud!"
|
Oh god, that was awesome. Someone order that docu pronto.
