my daughter and I made a sled out of another sheet of corplast OMG is it fast, and the little grooves make this weird noise. it's awesome. I used coat hangers in the plastic to curl the front up. added a skate lace and bingo!

A bunch of sweet Sogreni stuff came into the store lately. My fave:

Sogreni Chain guard/cover

Test fitted on Shinbot's Fixie. Love it! (But maybe not for everyone)

jeremywhitehorn 01-28-07 04:45 PM

yes, it looks phenomenal but how useful is it?

I like it more for looks. Screw my pants :D

b-but, you're not being safe! you're not thinking of the children! for god's sake will someone think of the children! i hope those kids were wearing helmets when they were tobogganing out of respect for safety.

that has been my life's motto thus far. screw my pants indeed.

will it actually keep your pants out of the chain?

I can only speculate from indoor testing, but it seems to work ok. Probably not as effective as something that covers the top AND side though (but most of them are hideous)

interesting. what's the deal with the company that makes it? do they make other luxury bicycle stuff?

Their stuff is very industrial. In the right application it's gorgeous. In the wrong, it can look like you made it at home.

You should see their stuff. They make bells, leather grips, racks, fenders, lights, and we have it all, whahahahah.

Tre expensive though

http://www.sogreni.dk/

edit: they also make some complete bikes, even an MTB which looks like a paint stripped bike from '92.

cavit8 01-28-07 05:42 PM

Ooo, but their trouser clip just gave me an idea. I have some elastic cord and if I just add a frog, then instant pant clip.

the only trousers i've seen you in are too short to get caught in the chain.

I hate to be the one to say it, but I miss summer riding (already). I do love winter, really, but it's just ****ing with my riding

TRaffic Jammer 01-28-07 08:52 PM

I'm just gettin' into my winter groove, I think.
More toboggan hills to ride? :)
Perchance some snowy back alley, or park one evening, the spit?

My nine year old is now surfing the corplast sled to the bottom using heel and toe side balancing with knees bent wide stance. I think I have a natural on my hands.

No hills for this guy YET we were just out to the bus, he loves getting on it so doesn’t his big brother. I have heard the talk about helmets for kids on sleds, kind of crazy.

It's all fun and games 'till someone almost scratches their helmet.

I got a pair of insulated pants which I wear on really cold days. Polypro and shants don't keep my knees warm enough. I'm using an old velcro watchband as a trouser clip at the moment.

I use a cat collar sometimes. Works and no fleas.

I'm off work this week, and could be convinced to go for a ride.

TRaffic Jammer 01-28-07 09:36 PM

One day it will be mine ... oh yes.
