This one I was watching was a steal for a Reparto Corse road frame and even this complete bike went for a cheap price.

Except for of course, the track frames which are overpriced, as CavMech said. The trend in track frames has priced some very mediocre stuff like Schwinn Madisons, or anything Italian, into the 400$USD range. If that frame is a celeste coloured Bianchi pista, even if it is made out of Aelle tubing, it goes for a grip. I think that it will slow down one day as all trends do, I cannot wait

Send you a PM re the wheel.

As Cavernmech said, the Park wrenchs are the pits for lockrings. I have one and I put a penny at the heel of my wrench and that helps a lot. Watch your knuckles though.

The fixie riding/savvy wrench at my lbs told me that track lockrings (namely, the dura-ace and soma ones he showed me) are smaller than those for bottom brackets.. he had a two-size/two-ended hook spanner that was definitely smaller. (EDIT: now that I've seen a pic, it was probably a Hozan)

Cav - guess yours is a bit of a freak of nature, as it's what I used to match a wrench at MEC.

Filzer FTL. (well, not really.. my own mistake), hooray for MEC's return policy!

Hozan also makes the 2 sided model with the smaller end. I still use the bigger end for lockrings but only those without opposing notches. This one is about $20 cheaper than the pliers..$35...and is substantially better than any other single notch tool I have used.

I've been using the hozan 2-end wrench for everything lately- cogs, bb, headset. Im really impressed by it. Thanks for the recommendation Keith! One day when budget permits I'd like the lockring pliers too...

Does anyone have any experience with the Canadian Tire Mastercraft "rotary tools"? They have a set on for half price and I was thinking of getting it to add to my tool kit.

I dont have experience with the Rotary tools but if it is like the rest of Mastercraft stuff it is prolly o.k. I have abused/misused/broken Mastercraft tools on regular occasion and they always replace the busted ones no questions asked. Rotary/Dremel + carbide cutting bit = cut anything.
