Meow!
I am in the process of peicing together my cervelo TT bike whose frame will arrive in a few weeks (hopefully). I have decided after much debate and after seeing the bike fitter to go integrated system vs component (basebar and clipons and stem seperate). After looking at and trying various brands I have decided to stay with FSA visiontech bars, mainly because I like the feel and they are about 150 less expensive than simular models from easton, etc.
The TT bar comes in two wing angles, a 0 degree flat bar and a 22 degree dropped bar (tri vs tt). Visiontech states that the flat bar is simular to riding in the hoods and it better for hillier courses. The Dropped bar is analgous to riding in the drops on a road bike. They also state that for TT bikes with short head tubes (like the cervelo I am ordering) that the dropped configuration maybe too low. That leads me to believe that the flat bar model maybe better than the dropped model.
Then I start looking at the pros and their cervelos and they all use the dropped wing configuration even in some technical courses. Then in events like paris nice you see more flat bars than curved.
Most of the tt's that I do are not flat and have climbing. Which bar do you think will serve my needs better? Attached are the two bars. Oh ya , two LBS's two different ideas... I am leaning to the less sloped bar though...
