Ultra light weight lock

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had one similar that I had to cut. It was one snip with a leatherman tool.

I guess I got lucky today.

Went for a ride and stopped to refill my water. When I came out, the bike was still there.

I think the lock you should consider depends on the area you plan to ride and stop at. I live and ride in LA, within the city, i would be nervous with a wimpy cable lock even if it was for 10 minutes if riding a fancy road bike.

I find it hard to believe the number of people who are still locking frames without protecting the wheels. I traded for my Trek 2300 last year (no wheels), and every week I see more bikes for sale without wheels. If I call to ask about the bikes for sale, usually the Sellers admit that they locked the bikes without locking the wheels, and the wheels were lost as a result. The crazy part is, that the Sellers are often asking for as much money as similar or identical complete bikes are selling.

There's a Seller near here that has a 15 year old Trek 1000 that's looks pretty good. But it's missing the seat, seatpost, and the wheels. Seller says he locked the bike frame, without losking the wheels, and this is what happened. He's asking $240 for it. And, it's been for sale for over a month now. He offered to go to $180, and told him, "...no thanks...", I can get a newer complete Trek 1000 for $220-$275 asking from several Sellers on CL.
