Can I use a stages sram gxp on a non-sram gxp crankset?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I know stages doesn't officially support mix and match, but I've seen people run dura ace stages cranks on ultegra cranksets and vice versa, which leads me to think its all about the spindle diameter. Can I toss a stages sram rival (gxp) on my Oval concepts gxp crankset?

Manufacturers use different NDS arm interfaces, but typically it's the same across different models. Hence, you can throw a Rival Stages on another Sram crank - like Force or Red, or put Ultegra Stages on a DA crank, and vice versa, but you cannot mix a Sram Stages with DA crank or Oval.

(This assumes your Oval crank is not a rebranded Sram or Truvativ crank.)
