Tommaso Steel Frames?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tommaso Steel Frames?

Anyone have an opinion on the relative value and quality of Tommaso steel frames? In particular this one on Ebay, ending in a couple of hours? Sorry if linking to an active auction is frowned upon but I'm tempted to bid on this frame to build up with all the stuff off my Trek 1200 that's way too small. Thanks guys!

looks nice, I have no idea who "Tommaso" is, but Reynolds 853 is some quality tubing. not sure why the guy wanted to use it as a fixie though, it has vertical dropouts.

seems like a good deal for 853 frame and ouzo comp fork

Wow, I can't believe I didn't notice that - wish I had more pictures.

Looking at their web site, https://www.tommasobikes.com/index.htm, this doesn't appear to be a current model. However, Reynolds 853 steel with a Ouzo Comp fork at the current price should be a real bargain. I have an '01 KHS Flite 800 with Reynolds 853 and it's a sweet ride.

Tommaso used to be a house brand built for Ten Speed Drive Imports. I had one made from Columbus SL, and built around '85. They were very nicely built, and rode well. No idea who the actual builder was, and no idea who's building them now. I thought Ten Speed Drive was no longer around.
Here's some info. on them from 20 years ago...:

Bah! Just jumped $60 since I started this thread. Going to go for more than I would spend on it I think...
