Do you spend more time a week riding or on forums ?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm already done riding for the day by the time you wake up. In the evenings I have the forum open in one browser tab while I catch up on emails in the other. Sometimes I read it on my lunch break too.

Well it is late autumn/early winter. And pitch black outside. I'm not all that inclined to ride in the cold and dark right at the moment.

I spend my workday in front of a computer so don't tell my boss I check in with the bike forum frequently during the day. Would I rather be riding than reading? Yeah, but my boss would know.

I can't ride in bed, the bathroom, in the car, at work, between client calls, waiting at the dentist, in line at the store, at the car wash, while I'm eating, when I'm walking, sitting on a plane, nor when I'm enjoying a post --ride beer. But guess what? Hell, I can be on the forums while I'm riding...

By 640AM I have already been up for three hours and done a 30 minute jog. Post from work on two ten minute breaks and a 20 minute lunch, weather permitting on the bike 3pm weekdays. Back home by 530 or so, so far done riding for the day, but that may change as days get longer. 1246 miles so far this year.359 mi in May so far.

I'm finished with my ride before most people are awake, except in the winter when I start later. Then I'm on here half the day since I'm retired and bored, except the days I'm babysitting my grandson. But I ride.

Just finished 30 miles of mixed Zone 3 and 4. I often jump on the forum after a ride, or on days where I cannot ride due to job constraints or really foul weather. Sometimes I'm on the forum while I'm on the trainer or on the elliptical or treadmill at the gym during a cool down.

Spent a similar mileage in the wet just now, hung the bike on it's hook w/ no extended clean-up necessary for it or my kit.

Where's that "Why Fenders?" post?

Fenders keep you from having to take a shower on the [way] home instead of after the ride.

Plus it keeps from having a Highway milkshake and a wet azz ...

Fenders an kickstands on a roadbike are Blaspheme.

Sometimes if I'm bored on a ride I'll pull over and read/post on forums under a shade tree.

I stop-off to take a quick break in the house...and check this forum.

I make my living on the computer...so when working (usuaully at night) I'll take a quick look to see what's going on here.

When I take a break after having returned from a ride...I'll catch-up on this forum...

So it probably looks like I'm here all the time!

But in-total, I probably do spend as much time (if not more) here than riding!- If I add-up all the 5 and 10 minute visits I make here, 30 times a day!

I ride at least 2 hours everyday, but that leaves lots of time to work, eat, sleep, and do other stuff while checking in here for a few minutes.

Right now I'm having a beer after work, and posting on the forum.
