Is Tufo tubular adhesive tape compatible with other brand tires or not?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is Tufo tubular adhesive tape compatible with other brand tires or not?

I hope cross posting this inquiry here as well as in the Bicycle Mechanics forum doesn't offend anyone, but I wasn't getting much traction over there.

Sure, this topic may appear in bygone threads, but I couldn't find any that were specifically dedicated to a definitive answer of the question: is it or is it not safe to use Tufo tubular adhesive tape with non-Tufo tires? In order to avoid prejudices regarding tape vs. glue, let me limit the question this way: just as safe as with Tufo tires? Tufo is trying to cover its ass by telling folks there could be a problem.

Also I see some mention of Tufo Extreme tape. Is that a different product vs. the regular kind? Is there a reason to use it?

Finally I also see a Jantex product, but it appears to be much simpler in structure than the Tufo. Does it work just as well. I read that its backing strip often tears while you are pulling it out from between the tape and the underside of the tire. Is that more true for the Jantex than the Tufo? Jantex is highly regarded for the utility of its products. Does this extend to the tubular gluing tape?

Which one would you use with Vittoria or Continental tires having a glued on fabric strip on the contact surface?

I used tufo tape on two specialized tires that were 22mm measured. I have heard that the extreme tape is overkill, and it can rip the tires apart when you try to remove them.
