Cysts or small tumors in groin area from over training.
Im asking a serious question if men have issues in our nether regions from riding too much.
Some will intentionally derail the thread but im asking a serious question for experienced riders/racers. |
Not me. Closest to it would be boils from a bad case of saddle sores decades ago. Also some butt callouses (Spel?) from contact with the saddle.
I highly suggest that you ask your doctor about the problem. |
Saddle Sores are the most I've ever heard or experienced. However can be remedied with proper care and cleanliness. It's nooot a Tumah...couldnt resist. But seriously anything relating to a cysts or tumorish should require a doctor or urgent care visit IMO.

See a doctor.
You may get a Blood Infection if not taken care of. Soak each night for ten minutes in a tub with hot soapy water. Keep the area Clean, like wash three time a day. |
I have a small nodule like and ingrown hair or something up under neath.
Ive done six 30 to 50 mile days in the last week. I ride everyday but on the last half of the long rides that little bump gets very irritated/ uncomfortable. If i lay off riding a little it goes away. So is that a saddle sore or pressure point ? |

I'm just glad this thread has no pictures.
|
I agree with 10 Wheels. Keep the area cleaner than clean. I wash up before a ride and shower with much scrubbing after the ride.
|
Given that you're known for changing your fit at random I'm not surprised.
|
try some chamois cream.
|
p.s. you don't train enough to be over training.
|
Not too surprised to hear this. Typical reaction when clydes point their saddle nose too far south. Did you have this problem before you made all the major fit adjustments?
|
Probably just an ingrown hair. Borrow some of your girlfriend's Finipil when she isn't looking.
|
I kept a vial of surgeon's scrub in my bag on tours to knock back the bacteria on the skin, under my clean pair of bike shorts.

I believe this is where the saying "I got a wild hair up my ass" came from.
|
I've had an ingrown hair get infected. Caused a bit of a scare until it was examined. If you have any doubts, see your doctor.
|
It's not big brass balls from training like a mad man? :)

It's relative to fitness level and depends on intensity. A few 150 mile weeks can do it, although with more fitness 450 miles can be fine. Symptoms would be things like inability to get heart rate up and fatigue.

wow! i didn't know about Bruce. i don't get around much anymore, i guess. :)

So i have the Spesh EVO ROMIN saddle, i tend to ride the nose of the saddle for most of my ride. I have a little nodule behind my oysters but in front of my posterior. Its not infected or puss filled, just a little cysts, i have a few in other places. Not cancer or anything but i will mention it to my GP next time i see him. Thanks for the responses, my LBS owner said its kinda normal guy stuff and recommended Euro chamois butter which i will try. Thanks to the suggestion of body glide on feet for hot foot that has been working great, no more hot foot. My saddle has been level last 2 weeks for those that asked. Ive been leaving the house more lubed up than a couple strippers wrestling in a kiddie pool of baby oil ... |
I was a lifelong Selle Italia guy but was persuaded to try the Romin. Got fitted on the Assometer and was surprised to have a wider saddle than I was used to. It was uncomfortable for the first 100 miles, but after that it's like butter. Don't even notice it. Just make sure you have it set up correctly: the middle third should be parallel to the ground.

When a bought the bike 8 months ago i hadn't bought or rode drop bars since the 70's even tho the shallow drop SPECIALIZED are alot better then my Schwinn many moons ago. My back and shoulders weren't accustom to supporting my upper body in that far forward position but now they are. Like anything else in life cycling has been a progression but a very enjoyable one. I much more prefer cycling to racing/touring motorcycles or driving a car in traffic. Tally Ho ... :giver::giver::giver: |
Those aren't tumors. They are a form of saddle sores that can turn into cysts. Most likely your saddle isn't positioned right and you have friction creating the sores.
When I get them I just pop in the hot shower and put triple antibiotic cream on afterwards. |
