Locked in the street

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Locked in the street

Everytime I walk by a locked bike in the street, I tend to do a quick scan to see what the bike is. Most of the time is nothing worth of mentioning, i have been seeing this ride around my block for an entire week. I feel the need to share.

It always amazes me how can some one just leave it in the street with a 10 dollar lock.

Bet you won't be seeing it much longer! It's overdue to go bye-bye.

Nah, it'll probably stay there doesn't look that appealing with the frame and crank getting messed up by scratching the floor. Bike thieves are mostly opportunists, part of this comes with being able to ride away with the damn thing off into the distance. Looks rather suspect and harder to disappear from the scene of the crime carrying a frame around.

so they stole the fork, bars, shifters ....and front deraileur but left the cranks, rear deraileur and brake. Might as well strip the whole thing so they could sell the complete group!

hahah I just noticed this is in NYC. Since that's the case the bikes were probably already stolen to begin with. I love NYC, but wow the thieves in that city sure are brazen. I had a buddy take off his shoes so he can change his socks after playing basket ball and he turned his head for about 10 seconds and some 8 year old kids ran by and stole them!!

My guess is the bike was stolen in the first place. It is hard for me to imagine someone who knows the value of a Seven frame sitting around like that. What a shame.

There's places where people lock their bikes and they still get stolen? I'm so glad to be a hill-billy from CO, Rocky Mountain High, Baby!

Yeah, I guess we didn't quite make it into the Age of Aquarius.
