The best part of this bike is that it doesn't say "cannondale" and "caad" 600 times on it.

Well, it's a prototype. They'll add those to the final product.

Maybe the non-prototype version will have them :P. Looking good to my uneducated eye, though!

I know mechanics will cringe at the internal cables.

StanSeven 06-10-15 03:21 PM

If that was a real pro bike, the saddle would be level and that spacer on top of the steerer removed. That team needs some 41 advice.

Lazyass 06-10-15 03:35 PM

And the bars are too high. The drops need to be level with the brake pads for the proper racer look.

A 110 stem! He'll never ride World Tour if he doesn't have enough room to list all the secteurs/bergs on there.

Now available in Neon Love Canary Yellow.

StanSeven 06-10-15 05:10 PM

People like this are pros and make money. Maybe we on the 41 should charge for our advice. We shouldn't be doing all this for free, especially for the top teams.

OldsCOOL 06-10-15 08:04 PM

Needs larger frame tubing.

Darth Steele 06-10-15 08:23 PM

it's not disc brakes, the wheels are not deep enough and it needs more branding... complete fail

CNC2204 06-10-15 08:29 PM

All Cannondales look the same to me ... :innocent:

mvnsnd 06-11-15 05:26 AM

I like the cable routing and that they are finally using a shorter spacer below the stem. Straight fork is kind of nice too.

Shorter spacer clearly says supersix on it and is likely a holdover from cannondale mechanic and not coming with the bike proper.

I cringe at the right side entry point for the rear brake cable.

Needs a Lefty.

If he's in the regular ride this weekend, I'll ask him what he thought. (The Incycle racers have been hit & miss lately with the race schedule). The boy can sprint!!! I can testify to that!

Lazyass 06-11-15 08:08 AM

I was wondering when someone would do that. I'd rather see a Headshok on it, though.

BenPS 06-11-15 08:31 AM

Caad 13

I think Lefty has the best chance at being the lightest design type...I hope they fine tune a variant for off-road/gravel bike use. I bombed a hill of railroad ballast a few weeks ago, pucker factor was high, I'm thinking a fork like that could increase the pucker/speed ratio.

Prototype? Brings back memories . . .
We test rode C'dale's prototype tandem back in the mid-80s for 3 months. That was 2 years before it was available to the public and then only as a frameset.
There were no stickers/labels on the bike.

My hat's off to Dorel. When they bought Cannondale I thought they would flush it down the toilet like they did most of the brands they bought. I figured we'd see bicycle shaped objects with Cannondale labels in Wally World and the Big Zero. A lot of others on these forums believed the same. But they've really changed their business model and have kept Cannondale a true LBS bike and a real competitor. Bringing an AL bike back to the TDF would be a real achievement for them.
