What do you guys do for recovery after a medium to hard ride??

What do you guys do for recovery after a medium to hard ride??

Tell me your recovery rituals. what do you eat drink Etc..

Shower, dress, sit down at my desk and get to work. If it's a particularly hard ride, I'll drink some whey protein and extra water.

None of my rides would probably be called "hard", but I'm pretty new and I'm pushing myself each week. That said, I don't really feel the need to do much recovery—this is primarily cardiovascular activity, and I could probably do the hardest ride I've currently done every other day and feel fine with it. I'd categorize the amount of time I need for recovery to be approximately zero compared to the amount of time I need for anaerobic work.

Glass of whole milk with ovaltine. I ride first thing in the morning so I'm on an empty stomach other than a cup of coffee.

protein powder in fruit juice. it's gross but it satisfies your needs. but if you're asking this question I wonder what you know about nutrition timing before and possibly during rides. keep researching and you'll get there

Hard rides, protein shake then later chug down some cherries or Cherry juice/Tea. They say these drinks help with recovery.

In my high school years we ran half a marathon at 5pm after classes, played rugby for 1 hr then smoked cigs how life has changed

and as far as I can remember there were no plastic water bottles. I guess we drank water but I don't recall being so "hydration" conscious

I wolf down a handful of deli meat slices which pretty much covers what protein and calorie is helpful, and a couple of bottles of water after weighing myself (never before) so that I can pretend to have lost some weight, spend about an hour feeling virtuous and then ... beer.

There probably isn't anything I'll do that's out of routine, besides maybe take a nap, but I tend to eat and drink more, and sooner if the ride was especially long or hard.
