Give me the feel of a good steel baby any day. I may be a retro grouch, but I still don't trust carbon fiber.

Helmets are useless in baby carriers. They just put their head in a constantly flexed position and they even more increase the head to body ratio which woukd be detrimental in a frontal impact.
And if you restrain them well they cannot hit their heads on the side unless they get rolles over by a ruck that doesn't change side of route when passing you which of course, doesn't do any difference if you have a 2 months old or 40 years old adult in your trailer, Rolling at 2 mph or 40 mph.
