Dominik Mellen's 24 hour 566 Mile Ride

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Good god, that man is a beast. Although I don't think I could do that many laps over 3.6 miles. I tried to do a metric century over a 15 mile out and back look once and by the third lap I gave up and just went riding elsewhere for a change of scenery. I can't repeat something that much and not go insane.

No stops (not even for bathroom) but used up 25,000 calories. Can't imagine what he ate and what that did to him. 24mph avg!

I wonder if he used either tt bars or a tt bike. It looks like a pretty turn heavy course he did, that might of been hard on a tt bike. I also would image that he was in a constant draft, with people ahead and behind him.
