Specialized Venge ViAS in the TdF
Noticed that both Cavendish and Segan seemed to have abandoned the ViAS and instead are riding their previous Venge's ever since stage 1. Coincidence? Is there something not right with the new bike or just preferring the "tried & true"?
Either way, it's not looking good for Specialized that their new bike is sitting on the shelf in the biggest event of the year. Supposed to be the grand coming out party!
What happened with "5 seconds saved", lol!
Let the speculation begin...

The Vias seems pretty present on the specialized website though:

I think it has to do with bike familiarity. The Tour isn't really the place to get used to a new bike. You will see pros switch back to their original bikes all the time after the debut of a new model. Could have been used for promotional purposes. Ride the bike for a couple stages. Who's to say that their bikes weren't shipped back to Specialized for evaluation?
I think Jakob Fuglsang may still be on the new Venge.

I'm impressed Specialized is bold enough to admit this.
