10 speed crank with an 11 speed group?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

10 speed crank with an 11 speed group?

Will it work? More specifically, it's an FSA gossamer 10 speed crank with Sram 11 speed cassette/chain/derailleurs.

I've read that 11 speed cranks work with 10 speed groups, but can't find much info on the other way around. Would I really notice anything in the way of dropped chains or difficult shifting up front?

Not an expert on this, but I'm running a 5800 crankset on on podium with a 5700 group otherwise. What I've found researching and then looking for myself is that the internal width of the chains are the same as are the teeth on the cassette and crankset. The external width of the chain is narrower to space the cassette more closely together allowing the 11th cog.

I've had no issues running an 11speed crankset with a 10 speed setup and I would imagine it's the same the other way around.
