Stelbel new models SB/03 and Rodano
Hello,
Anyone purchased/ordered/ridden anything from the new/re-launched Stelbel range, particularly the SB/03 and/or the Rodano?
Web-site is here:
Stelbel - Handcrafted bicycle frames since 1973
Marketed by CicliCorsa.
Thanks

It's been really hard to find any info on these bikes from folks that have actually ridden them (I hunted around a number of forums and this was one of the few posts I found about Stelbel). All the same, they are so damn pretty I figured I'd be a guinea pig and went ahead and ordered an SB/03 despite not having much input from people that have owned them. So hopefully I'll have one in a few months and I can post up my experience and impressions of it. So far my interaction with the company and going through the ordering process has been great. If the build quality and ride quality is half as good as it looks in the pictures I will be mighty happy!

Sweet looking frames. Haven't heard of them before but they sure look nice.

Soo....I received my Stelbel SB03 a couple weeks ago! And I wanted to update this post with my first impressions.
I've put a couple hundred miles on it, and I'm loving the heck out of it! The fit and finish is second to none, easily the best looking tig welds I've seen (in that they are pretty much invisible they are so clean and smooth). The bike handles great and transfers power really well. Those beefy chain stays make it very stiff when you get out of the saddle to really pout down the hammer. Also dealing with Stelbel over the course of the order/building/shipping/etc was always a really positive experience as well. I would certainly recommend Stelbel to anyone in the market for a beautifully made racing ready custom steel road bike.
Here are some photos of my SB03 built up with full Campy Chorus and Bora One 35 wheelset!

Thanks for sharing. Always good to learn about unusual/small-shop frames and bikes, and always good to see cool bike photos.

Thanks guys!!
Definitely! There are so many small builders out there that have small enough production numbers that it can be hard to find out anything about them from owners. I figured I'd try to do my part by sharing my experience and impressions rather than just quietly enjoying my new bike haha!

Stelbel is an old brand (early 70s) with quite a history. They were one of the first to use TIG welding in frame production (although not THE first) and continue to market based on this fact.
The company as it is now was actually founded in 2015. I think there is some connection with the original owners/builders but the brand is pretty much new. They are very much focused on custom and semi-custom frames and have also branched into collaborating with component manufacturers to make things like Stelbel pantographed parts or the color matched seatposts and stems that you see in the picture posted above. I follow their Instagram page - they look to be very high quality frames.

I believe Stelio Belletti (the original owner/builder of Stelbel back in the 70's / 80's) helped consult with the re-launch of the new Stelbel by Cicli Corsa. It appears he mostly gave input on the welding/construction techniques. Though I think I read at some point he had some hand in the development their new frames as well. Though I'm fairly certain all of the construction and building of the frames are done by a new group of builders.

I ordered a full bike from Stelbel, so I never had just the un-built frame and fork to weigh. Using just a bathroom scale I found that the whole assembled bike weighed about 19.4 lbs. So it's no weight-weenie bike... but then it's also a pretty large frame. Other things to note when thinking weight, the seat post, bars, and stem are Deda Zero 100 (Alloy), the water bottle cages are stainless steel, groupset is Chorus, wheelset is Bora One 35 clincher version. So I didn't spec it out to be super light either. I couldn't justify the expense required to shave another pound or pound and a half.

I've just ordered a new frame -SB/03- from Stelbel and currently using Rodano.
I can answer if you have any further questions and you can read a short review about Rodano if you google it as 'g2 cycling stelbel rodano'
Sorry that I wasn't able to paste any link since I've just created my account.
Cheers!
