Cycling briefs

Has anyone tried the cycling briefs at performance? I usually wear bike shorts with mesh shorts over them. I'd love to wear normal bike shorts, but unfortunately, I'm a high school kid and that would be the end of my social life (I'm not insecure, i'll wear pink any of the weak, but spandex...that would be bad).

thanks, sam.

p.s don't judge me, please just answer the question :-)

I guarantee you, if girls see you in that, your social life wont be over :D

you might even start a trend amongst the guys.

Its not that big of a deal for me atleast. I live in an area where no one knows me and i live with my GF. She says i look gay and i dont care what she thinks!! haha :-D

Have you looked into loose fit shorts.

Should look pretty cool to the high school crowd. They're big with the mountain bike people I know. Now if you going to ride on the road and you want to help wind resistance and such, all I can say is suck it up and just ignore those people that don't know their butt from a hot rock.

Good luck,

Steve "cycling bibs for me thanks"

Yes, but then again, if there's a lot to be desired, your social life could dramatically decrease also! :D

Easy fixed

1. Go commando.
2. Stuff some footy socks down there. Front, not back.

I wear my spandex underneath my black levi's. Think of it like you're superman, but only if superman felt his costume was too dorky so he just went around in his normal clothing while doing all that saving the earth crap.

The briefs work OK if you aren't sweating badly. Don't wear anything with agressive seams over them or the seam will start sawing at you. If you get really sweaty, it is about like an overdue diaper......

I live in an area where plenty of people know me and my gf tells me i look gay, but i also dont care. if you ride alot, you will want to wear lycra.

Honestly, I'd rather wear those shorts than tights if I wasn't racing and riding solo (seriously). Sure they aren't as aerodynamic, but you feel better walking into public places with them on. Haha....they go well with my recessed cleat shoes too.

Flame away.

I stopped wearing cycling shorts after I bought a couple pairs of Underarmour compression shorts.

Sure my a-ss hurts, but I like not having that feeling of wearing a diaper.

the solution is simple. wear a pair of liteweight basketball shorts over the spandex shorts. i do that during the summer all the time. those basketball shorts are so light and airy you won't even notice them.

I wear a pair of Zoic Durango loose fit shorts with the liner for biking to work. For walking in the halls of my very conservative workplace, I think I'm better off leaving the spandex at home. They are comfortable enough for my 13.5 mile round trip commute. But for ALL of my other riding, I wear the tight stuff. It feels better, it's cooler in the heat, it never bunches up and my GF says I look hot in it :)

Wait, Since when did you ahve a social life? DOH :D im just kidding.

Try the baggy shorts with the chamois. You wont get the comfort of spandex. Oh and pink is a guys color...Its not a big thing if you wear pink anymore. Dude just get in shape, then you can look good in the shorts (bibs sorry BIBS!) and matching jersey. Anyone who makes fun of you tell them we shall race and willsee who is the one laughing now...
