Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And in the spirit of debunking statements, here's a bike under $1,500 from a reputable brand with 11spd. Your statement about $1,500 being the starting point is now useless: Z85 - Felt Bicycles

Ohhhh and loooooooook. One BELOW $1k with 11spd. What now? Fuji Sportif 1.1D Road Bike - 2015

Starting point $1500 for 105? that's when you start to get either a carbon frame or Ultegra.
Like I said, you lack the ability to read. In fact, you can't even read your own posts correctly. The fact of the matter is, just about every brand has a model above $1K without 11 speed. I know you can't read very well, so no point in listing them all.

2x11 is what just about all road bikes come with these days.

It's unfortunate that brake spec is bifurcating into:

1. very powerful disc brakes (probably more than is necessary for an average rider) vs.

2. wonky, cheap, low tolerance shimano knock-offs, ie tektro, which can't be adjusted properly and have rock hard brake pads.

Well built shimano dual pivots provide a happy medium of brakes built to close tolerances, good quality pads, with low weight. Sadly, manufacturers insist on either the cheapest spec or the flashiest spec, leaving consumers in the lurch.

You're completely missing the point. Let me slow it down for you so you can grasp the 1st grade level concept.

1.) Someone made a dig at someone from Florida for "probably have a double crankset with 11spd cassette".
2.) I said that most bikes these days are 11spd in an attempt to show that someone didn't buy a 2x11 bike because they needed it, but because it is the norm. The same way fuel injection in cars is the norm, it's just what you get when you buy one.
3.) You had a fit about the price point I chose, even after I revised it and gave examples.

Pick whatever price point you want, most bikes these days are 11spd. Let's take a look at what's out there (for the sake of discussion I'm ignoring the ultra low end stuff on walmart bikes):

Sram... red, force, rival, apex. 3/4 are 11spd
shimano... dura ace, ultegra, 105, tiagra, sora... 3/5 are 11spd
campy... super record, record, chorus, athena, veloce... 4/5 are 11spd

You know what it takes to be able to say "most" things are in a certain category? Any measurable quantity above 50%. Above we see 75%, 60%, and 80%. Guess what? MOST is a true statement! Go back to school!

As I pointed out before, you can't read your own posts correctly. I'll post it for AT LEAST THE THIRD TIME:

Since you can't read, "all" means 100% It is very obvious that this is incorrect. You did not say "most," you said "all."

You also "asked" (rhetorically, I know you don't know what that means, but whatever) if there are any road bikes that cost above $1k without 11 speed. The answer again, is obviously yes.

You are factually incorrect on both matters.

No amount of obfuscation (again, don't bother trying to read that term or look it up) will change the fact that you are wrong on both counts.

@ you for not knowing what "just about" means. Hahahahhahahah

MOST bikes these days come with 2x11, prove me wrong, I dare you.

Again, factually incorrect. Let's take specialized's allez line. There are 9 models, and 4 of them do not have 11 speed.

Or their secteur line. There are 4 models. Exactly 0 have 11 speed.

Or road bikes sold on bikes direct. You'll find countless examples of road bikes with 7 to 10 gear cassettes.

You don't know what you are talking about. You are making wild exaggerations, and using emoticons, and laughing at your own lame jokes to cover up the fact that you can't count or define your terms accurately.

Secteur? That's a comfort bike, not a road bike.

Why do people on this forum always pull out extreme examples and act like they are the norm?

Specialized Venge, Trek Emonda, Trek Madone, BMC TMR, Pinarello Dogma, etc etc. That's what I think of when I hear "road bike". How many of those have 10spd or less?

Yeah, that's the problem. You trying to "think."

LMAO! A "comfort" bike! The roubaix is a "comfort" bike not a road bike. The domane is not a "road" bike it is a "comfort" bike. The defy and defy advanced are not "road" bikes since they are "comfort bikes"! Dude, you are just precious.

The Specialized Langster is in their road bike section, so obviously it's a road bike. It's the ultimate original set up so must be the best. Fixed gear, no brakes.
