It's booming a lot less, however some are still earning profits, though the margins are less (costs are down when the price goes down too).

started as a mural painter and freelance artist out of art school, but it was difficult living. Went and did my Ed degree and started teaching. After realizing that wasn't for me, I drifted for a bit then somehow ended up as a technician in television...weird world. Still illustrate when called upon...once an artist, always an artist.

I have to say that there are a lot of interesting professions in this thread.

Nice, how does working on the FE car compare to the Pro Mazda? I was surprised how much I enjoyed the FE season, but the cars just need more power and batteries that don't require a car swap mid race. I guess those two things won't go together for a few years at least...

Electrical engineer by training, now a specialist/in-house consultant on safety of software and system behavior in automobiles, helping to design safe high-tech products for cars. Also have done spacecraft power systems, immunity to electrical noise, protection of space vehicles. Then in automotive electronic throttle actuators, and radar/vision based safety systems capable of automatic braking.

Lotsa tech! Bikes are where life gets tactile and simple. There's nothing about a bike you can't feel.

Rode 40 miles yesterday, too much time at the office.

I eagerly await the day that cars drive themselves, so that the phone-addicted occupants can text without distraction by things on the road.

Mechanically, the layouts are about the same just that the electric drivetrain takes a bit more observation for safety reasons. Season two should have faster cars, not sure yet on how far the cars will go on a charge.
