Groupsets - Question about Tiagra and R460

Hello All,

Perhaps I am posting this question in the wrong area, but here it goes.
I am considering to buy Giant Anyroad 1 and there seems to be a difference in the specs for the 2015 model vs the 2016 model.

2015 Model says:
-------------------
Shifters: Shimano R460
Front Derailleur: Shimano R460
Rear Derailleur: Shimano R350

2016 Model says:
--------------------
Shifters: Shimano Tiagra
Front Derailleur: Shimano Tiagra
Rear Derailleur: Shimano Tiagra

Which one is better? Also, I'm confused - usually a groupset would have a name (like Sora, Tiagra, etc) and be comprised of certain parts, right??? So I'm guessing the 2015 model is a 'bit of this groupset, and a bit of that groupset' which would explain why they listed the actual model numbers, right?

Could someone please clarify, thank you!

I believe the R460/350 are generic OEM parts but still equivalent to Tiagra level. I could be wrong. Also it's common for manufacturers to break up groupset on complete bikes to hit certain price points.

The 2016 has the new Tiagra 4700 parts which are based on the latest generation Dura Ace/Ultegra/105 which should be a step up in shifting

Tiagra is 4600. I presume both groupsets you reference are Tiagra 10s.

Both 10 speed but the 2016 appears to have 4700 wich is newer ...therefore better
