I sincerely want to take this guy seriously but I go back to my original intuition from his first thread and say "troll". I have seen some elaborate troll jobs on various forums over the years but this one is right up there.
On a side note, back when I trained muay thai and frequented the sherdog forums, one Australian guy set up the most elaborate troll job that lasted about 3 years before he got outed. He claimed to be a retired Thai fighter living in a small village in Thailand who was half white as the result his mother having a one night stand with an Australian tourist. Due to his being half white and growing up fatherless he never fit in....etc. The guy probably posted 10k times in three years and had various pictures of himself. Things went on and on until another forum member actually traveled to the village he was supposedly from in Thailand and uncovered his lies. My only point is that this is the internet and there are people with way too much time on their hands

OP, serious reply- If your bike fell on its right side, check the shifting by putting it in a stand or upside down, and then trying to get into the biggest cog on the cassette while spinning your cranks very slowly. If the derailleur tries to push the chain over the cog and into your spokes/spoke protector, you bent the hanger inward and need to have it fixed.
If your fall was at 5mph that's the only thing I can see happening as far as damage, other than scuffs to bar tape/pedals which are just cosmetic. Fixing a bent hanger is pretty easy, it can either be bent back into place if it's not too far or just replaced, either repair shouldn't cost more than $15-20 if your shop isn't trying to screw you.
Your bars also might have been whacked out of alignment in relation to your front wheel if your stem bolts were a tiny bit loose, that's easily fixed by loosening them, straightening everything up, and re-tightening. Simple. Good luck, and stick to the roads.

You flew down a 5 foot hill after hitting a 50 pound girl at 5 mph?

You never know. I wasn't on BF at the time but reading old threads by RyanF makes you think he must have been a troll. Some other BF member ended up meeting with him and going for a ride, basically confirming that he really was exactly who he portrayed himself to be.
In my case, I started a recent semi-troll thread. I'm not actually seeking advice comparing a 1996 Specialized to a 2016 CAAD12, I was parodying another similarly absurd "which bike to buy??" thread, yet I still got a bunch of serious replies. Troll life.

DreamRider, in the one in a billion chance this is actually real, just remember that there are no stupid questions here -- just the ones you ask. You have a gift for comedy gold, so you should post any musings you might have. On an aside note, it is totally insane to think that anyone (especially kids and animals) should be looking out for you. Anyone who regularly gets into accidents is causing them. It really is that simple. Don't ride so close to unpredictable things and you'll be fine.

Go with the one that's two sizes too small .... new bikes are terrible .... Make sure to get 18mm tires on it. Less rubber = less chance of a flat.

So with my mountain bike, every time I went into the shop, they always said something needed to be fixed. Every single time. And it would cost hundreds. Seemed like each time my bike fell, it needed a fix. It could just be falling off the stand from the wind.
Now on my 4th ride with my road bike, I collided with a little girl. She turned right into me. She was only like 50 pounds. The crazy thing was she wasn't hurt. She might have been pushed back a couple of inches. I flew down a 5 foot hill to the right, while my bike fell over on its side right where the collision occurred. I feel I'm very lucky, also because she could have been hurt bad. I couldn't believe that she wasn't hurt.
Now I have to be super careful when people are around, especially little kids. That may have been her first time on a bike. Now granted, I was only going about 5 mph.
Do I assume my bike is messed up? I went out and rode it 20 miles after that and everything seemed fine. But based on my experience with my last bike, every time it fell, no matter how soft of a fall, it needed a tune up.
Also, how the hell do you avoid people on the trails? Sometimes they aren't looking and just all over the place. Makes me upset a lot. They can at least look.

Some are better suited to vocational school.

But then again, at least he wouldn't be designing aircraft or managing finances.
