The return of Heron
Saw an add in the weekly rbr newsletter. I don't think they're being done by Grant Peterson/Rivendell this time, but probably an acquaintance, using the same frame design and decor, etc.

Yes they are back. Todd Kuzma of Tullio's Big Dog Cyclery bought the line about a year ago.
Tullio's Big Dog Cyclery I'm waiting for a Heron touring to be delivered.:D Ted Ingraham Middletown, Ohio |

Originally posted by roadbuzz Full report when it comes, please! I stopped by Tullio's in LaSalle, IL on my way to Wyoming and test rode a couple of Heron Touring bikes. What a great ride! I thought about an Atlantis, but didn't want to wait 3+ months, and was reluctant to buy without a test ride. I like to deal with LBS, and Tullio's is only 350 miles away. I guess I can still consider him a LBS. ;) Hope to have it next week. :) Ted |
Took the Heron out for it's first road trip. Only did 25 miles on this shake down ride, it was a sweet ride. :D
The bike is equipped with barcons. This was my first experience with them. Had no problem getting used to them. A friend of mine who has been riding a Rivendell for 5 or 6 years rode my Heron and said it felt just like his Rivendell. Todd Kuzma of Tullio's Big Dog Cyclery did a great job building the bike. All I had to do was mount the front wheel, handle bar stem, my Brooks B.17 saddle, and pedals. If you're looking for something in the Rivendell or Waterford, but don't have 2500-3000$, the Heron is a great alternative.:) Ted:beer: |
