Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I have to admit the bar setup looks a little odd, but if you're happy with it go with it.

What are these style bars called? I always preferred the classic or a shallow drop bar.

Your stem looks crooked. Not a fan of the bars. The rest looks pretty cool.

Nice bike but it is way too small for me. I have the same frame from this era. Any info on finding replacement decals?

The best reproduction decals are availabe from Velocals. Here is their website: VeloCals vintage bicycle decals - Thin transfers - waterslide - dry transfer

I'm not selling the Merlin Extralight! I've gone through too many TI frames, about 12 to finally get a frame that fits me!

nice looking fork but checking specs it's about 200grams heavier than my original Ouzo Pro CF from 2003. Is there some benefit to one of these?

Yes, it's made in the USA! I like the style of the fork crown and the unique design of the round fork blades. In fact with the Moots TI stem, Seat Post, Woundup fork and the Merlin Extralight, shows that we in the USA can build quality products competitively! Weight I have not noticed any difference in handling ( the whole bike as shown equipped weighs in at 16.9 lbs) That's why it's not for sale!

Super! Thanks for the link on decals. My 2001 Merlin decals are ok but I would like to have some replacements for if and when.

I took a look at those decals.. Did Merlin change their font? My 2003 decals don't look the same as anything at Velocals.. the easiest noticed difference is the merged M and E.. My logos have these two letters quite separated.
eg.
