Is any body using the Shimano Click'r shoes with clips and straps?
Looking for a touring shoe for use with campy record clips and straps. I played with the three Click'r models today at REI and I think they may provide the firmness on the forefoot that my cycling sneakers (5ten) lack. And they seem narrow enough on the out side to not fall off the pedal or get crammed up against the crank. I'm not looking to walk much and I don't want to pay more than 100 bucks. I thought about the Chrome cycling sneaker but they are probably like my 5tens.

Why not dump the clips and straps and get proper pedals? Sometimes new things actually are better.

I'm using this setup on my road bike. Clickr Pedals and non-Shimano shoes. It's a very comfortable match.

I did almost 10,000 miles last year with clipless. I signed up for L'Eroica 2016 and need to use clips and straps. Problem is that nobody makes a proper shoe at my budget.

I used road shoe without cleats with clips & straps. Slipped a lot when I put my foot down on the ground, but worked well while pedaling.

Well, if you're going to do a retro ride, you may as well dig for retro shoes and slotted cleats on ebay.

Definitely a shoe with a plug or flat sole. Here are a couple from the REI website that might look close to authentic. [I work at REI, so I'm just showing what I'm familiar with - trying to shill.] These are the two that look the most retro.
These might need different laces:
Giro Rumble VR Bike Shoes - Men's - REI.com
Shimano Click'R CT80 Bike Shoes - Men's - REI.com
But for the money, I might try to score a pair of vintage shoes on eBay.
