Bicyclists ticketed $195 each for ignoring Stop Signs

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Seriously???

You think he agrees with you but is afraid to speak up?

Did it ever occur to you that some people have respect for others?

The SF protest article was enlightening and entertaining. However, what organized/sanctioned/legal types of protests carried out in an urban center on the city streets wouldn't snarl traffic?

Nah, this is the 41. It will be locked (or moved)before it moves on to that topic (which I had to Google).

Imagine if it was an all day every day thing, and not a one time protest!

Seattle. Hard to imagine getting a protest together and organized every day. Not sure there's a point to imagining this.

Well said.
It's the law.
Maybe appreciate the hundreds or thousands of times you didn't stop or rolled through without getting a ticket?

I think that would be appreciated by all... It's getting a little hostile in here.

I appreciate that post, especially since I don't expect some of the remarks that have been made here and I work in corrections. When I lived in the Berkeley area I felt that some cyclists were nothing more than an effete bunch of snobs. And I rode mtn and road bikes at the time, during the 1980s.

It's kind of a pain in the butt making a complete stop on a bike, and it's easier slowing down and making sure it's safe. I hate seeing cyclists acting like they're time-trialling, flying past stop signs without even looking. Those d-bags deserve a ticket.

When you say you work in corrections do you mean you work in an animal shelter? That's the only way I can think of that you would be shocked, in any way, by what has been said here.

I work in corrections, and I´m shocked too. Shocked that some here are so naive that they dont recognize that some elements behind blm are focused on making it more difficult on all members of law enforcement to do our jobs. One of the LEOs killed in the last 2 weeks was a CO, and I stand with all my brothers and sisters no matter what beat they walk.

The cops joined this protest on their bikes with a message that, yes, this is how we do it. Ha, "Stop all the Foo and drop down your shoe"

This thread had plenty of opportunity to turn around and stay on topic, but insists on running off the track into P&R. Closed.
