Another tip - your shoes are going to get wet (obviously). You can purchase shoe covers to help with that. Or you can go the cheap route, while you are figuring out if you like to ride in the rain. Place your socked feet in thin plastic shopping bags. put your shoe son. Trim off excess. This keeps most of the water/wind off your feet.

When you're done riding, stuff your shoes pretty tight with newspaper for at least an hour. The newspaper will pull moisture out of the shoe. Remove paper and let dry fully.

I have a 2nd bike an older hybrid with thick 32's on it that I use for bad conditions / rain. Costs next to nothing and makes bad weather riding a lot of fun as I can ride trails and mountain areas without having to worry about sliding out into traffic and getting ran over.
