Oakley Photochromic

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oakley Photochromic

Does anyone own a pair of Oakley photochromic lenses? What are your opinions? I usually ride later in the afternoon/evening so the photochromic lenses seem appropriate for the changing sunlight conditions without having to remove my sunglasses when it begins to get darker towards the end of my rides.

I wear prescription glasses with the Transitions lenses and they work great for cycling. I'm sure the Oakley's would perform just as well.

I have a pair of the vr50 lenses. They don't get very light, but get very dark in bright sun. The Black Iridium lenses don't get super dark but will go clear for evening or night riding.

Have have the Oakley CrossLink frames with Transition, progressive RX lenses and they work great. I have a single pair of glasses I can use as daily wear and on the bike. Work like a champ and pretty damn comfy. I have been thinking of gettng a pair of flak jackets as they are lighter, but these work pretty damn good.

Do you need RX? or just sunglasses? If just sunglasses....I really like the Tifosi stuff....I had some of their photochromatic lenses and they worked like a champ. I just need to see better, so I had to go RX and got a pretty good deal on the lenses when I bought the frames.
